If that's your in your profile pic, that thing is gorgeouusssss. He dropped the price to 24k even because of my travelling. So I'm hoping it all checks out and I can be an official Z owner

I think it is a great buy.
If there is a real reason to think the engine is a "safe" purchase at 50,000 miles, but not at 100,000 miles, then that speaks a huge amount about the engine being a poor design in the first place. What a lot of people are saying here is that the engine is that risky, so go buy one for a lot more money. Not sure that adds up as logical for me.
My experience says that whatever you spend on future repair service isn't related to the total mileage. It might the related to the time span before you spend it. What if there was such a car that had a lot of engine work at 50k, and now you are going to buy it at 100k? Would that car have been a better buy if you happened to have a chance at it for a higher price, when the odo read 48k? I don't see it that way.

FWIW, the usual reaction on this forum to any prospective purchase is that you can do better, should spend more money, etc. Overall, this is by far the most enthusiastic response I have seen to a prospective purchase. It must be a great deal!

I live in Dallas but I work in DeSoto for Chevrolet. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I can refer you to quite a few good LS shops in the area. Or if my Corvette tech isn't completely backlogged, I can try to get you in with him. He's one of the better ones I've ever seen at a dealership. He came to work for us from a very well respected LS shop.
