So are you having a mid-life crisis or do you just enjoy driving a performance car?

Can't get a stock Hayabusa to do 200 with dropping it off a building. Didn't he do 170 in the video.

I've been driving Corvettes since college. A few years ago had my mid life crisis and got me a Ford F150. Lasted about a year, and then I went back back to Corvettes . . .
I guess that midlife crisis can manifest in different ways. LOL

I'm well past mid-life, so I guess I must have just purchased my first Vette because I love beautiful, sleek, high-performance, two-seater sports cars. My first car 50 years ago was a used 1962 MGA.

I am 64 and have not had my midlife crisis yet and the clock is ticking. I am hoping for a midlife crisis that's like smoking non filter cigarettes and drinking 100 proof whiskey straight out of the bottle...no BS to it. I want it all... a bright Red Vette with an engine with twin afterburners. I want one of them young wild wicked city women with rouge on her cheeks and bourbon on her breath...riding in my Vette in her dental floss bikini. I can just see us rubbing thighs, telling lies, swapping spit, talking s**t...shaking that Vette like it's running on 4 cyinders....
But as I sit here in my rocking chair, watching Laurence Welk reruns on TV, it's almost dark outside and I am ready for bed after I take my blood pressure, diabetic, arthritis and gout medicine...clean my dentures. I am waiting for my midlife crisis to begin ...pleeeezzzzeees👍👍

48 and driving it as my DD - even in the rain LOL! Tried a Solstice GXP a few years back and found it to be less than satisfying. Drive what you like and stop worrying what people think. I pick a car on what I like, not others.

Mid-life crisis when I bought the 94 C4 in 1996. 1st Vette I'd had in 27 years.
Just enjoyed driving a performance car when I had the 5 C6s from 2004 through 2016.

I was young when I got my first Torch Red Corvette... 3 Corvettes later, l Torch Red is still the best. Now Chrome wheels might indicate more of a mid-life condition.
All Corvettes are Red !!!

Just got tired of 4cy turbo motors.. they are great, however you gotta have some deep pockets to go big. Still have em, but i figured my next build will start off as a big nasty NA V8..
Besides the damn Vette looks so good! And I look good in it!

Lol (on the chrome wheels!!)...I laugh because 99% of every corvette with chrome has a guy with grey hair driving. IMO they look silly on anything past a 1980 model

My 2nd vette. I had a used 1985 vette as a 2nd vehicle around 1994 at age 31 after a divorce. It was alot of fun for a couple years. I sold it when I got remarried, my decision.
Last year I was looking for a c5 as a toy for about 6 months or so. But when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August at age 53 my budget went up and I splurged for the 2011 Grand Sport. I've never kept a toy for very long so I'm almost a year into this one.
I'll see how it goes after my surgery next month.
So I guess my Corvette is a combo mid life & "enjoy life now" thang.

I've been hooked on performance cars since I was 19 years old. I've always had a sports car or a muscle car somewhere in my life. I'm 72 now and this one may be the last, but it also may be the best. I bought my Victory Red '09 Vette used. The pricing and mileage were both lower than the silver one next to it on the Chevy dealer's used car lot. It is the first car I've ever owned that was red, however.
My last Vette, a '69 427 390hp M21 4 speed car, was Le Mans Blue.
I also own a '69 Meadowlark Yellow Mustang convertible. Does that make me less macho?
These writers need to find something to write about so they dredge up old generalizations like the old guy with the red Corvette trying to recapture his youth. One thing that does bother me, however, is when the medallion on the gold chain gets caught up in my chest hair.
