Default Now this was REALLY confusing.....

I have a 2012 GS with NAV. Since owning the car the NAV has been a cantankerous POS. Just installed the newest updated disc and went to Bowling Green for the Corvette Caravan.

Here is the confusion.....For the first time ever it worked flawlessly and got me there and to my motel with no hitches. Of course the route was I40 to I65 to the museum, but still it worked for the first time ever.

That makes sense. Don't all roads lead to Bowling Green when you are in your Corvette?

Should have seen the poor bastards a couple years back who set their factory NAV for Talladega speedway and ended up 11 miles away at a car wash! LOL! I think it's still wrong even in the latest DVD version for the C6.

I have never heard of a factory nav system that worked as good as a Garmin. On any vehicle.

I successfully programed my nav. system, for the first time ever, on the first attempt. And lo and behold it took me from Dayton to my hotel in Harrisburg. I was amazed. This on a nine year old car.

System is anything but intuitive.

So was the Nav in my 2008 Lexus IS250

Garman is so much easier to use.

I've heard nothing but complaints about the C6 Nav system.

I've made a lot of road trips ranging from 150 to 900 miles, and it works just fine. Gets me where I want to be every time.

It isn't as intuitive, or user friendly to setup, or enter addresses, etc., as the state of the art unit in my wife's 2014 Nissan, but once you learn how to program it the thing works fine.

I don't understand why so many folks complain about this Nav?

it's been a long standing debate how bad or good the Factory Nav is.
But aside from how easy one or the other is to use, being able to update or how the screens look, I personally don't see much difference in any of the the available Nav units or systems.
Yes some are really cool and modern compared to the Factory Nav.
But they still all have their oddities and I've never had some of the problems many have when I use the Factory Nav.
Maybe I'm just lucky and, not saying the problems many complain about are not real.
I tried other units, including Garmin and Magellan and they all got me to where I wanted to go..
But I prefer the Factory Nav when it comes to punching in a destination and programing the route to do what I want it to.
Just mt 2 cents

Ordered my '05' without nav, on-star, and satellite radio. Just bought our first car with factory nav, a new Grand Cherokee Overland. Like the car a lot but the nav is nothing compared to our Garmins. Never buy one 'in car' again.

The development cycle of a car is somewhere around five years...consumer electronics around one year. It's just not possible for the auto industry to keep up with the latest electronics. This is also true in the ECM and BCM systems. These work fine but the tech is far behind the latest bus technology and Intel Core processors.

When I get into a '70's car, like a Vette, the part that seems the most antiquated is the radio and maybe cassette or eight-track player.

Default Well worth the money...📀

I don't know if my NAV works or not but one thing it does better than any machine ever invented. It keeps my wife busy pushing all the buttons and not looking how fast we are going... helping me drive and informing me about other meaningless information. Well worth the money....🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

x2 Factory Nav will do the job, but there is NOTHING that beats the Garmin interface for simple intuitiveness.

Had my C6 with NAV since 4/2005, 2011 Lexus with NAV and borrowed a Garmin for a trip before owning the C6 and Lexus. They all have worked with no issues. Never had a complaint with any of them.
