Harley's - Sport Bikes, etc

Melting Slicks
Had a bunch of bikes from cruisers to Ducatis . . . down to one now as I just sold my Yamaha Royal Star Venture tourer.
This is my 2009 Suzuki V-Strom 650. 450 lbs, 70hp. Not the fastest, not the heaviest, sure not the prettiest, but perhaps my favorite.
Cheap to buy, great commuting and on the highway, fun in the twisties, good for mild off-roading, all day comfort, ABS, 250 miles/tank and never breaks. Easily keeps up with all my Harley friends. A true all-rounder.
Was even gonna upgrade to the new 1000 version that just came out, but still like this one too much. Might not ever sell it.
( When I bought it there were not many "Adventure" bikes to pick from - now its probably the fasting growing segment in the motorcycle industry )

I'm kinda surprised at how many Harley owners there are here considering they have the worst dollar per horsepower ratio possible. 20K+ to 30K+ for less than a hundred ponies. I'll admit they are the majority bike out on the road near and far and they look good and sound good but I just couldn't pay what they get for them w/o even a hundred ponies at the wheel, not to mention the 2-3" of suspension travel and very poor cornering clearance.

here's one of our race bikes... this is the tame one, running mid 8's. The motor in my build bike posted above, is based on this one.

...and touring bikes....Mmmmm....comfort!
Then I got a Vette and put a SC on it and these were ridden 4 whole times this year.
When does the novelty of the Vette wear off BTW?

Been a diehard sport bike rider/owner and will always have them. As you can see by my other pics in this thread I'm kind of a track junkie.
But I decided to get a cruiser. But I wanted one with performance and one that actually handles the twisties.
So I picked up this beautiful 2006 Harley Davidson V-ROD Street Rod. Only 7,000 miles.
