It's funny - every time I end up paired at a light with a sport bike
and I am on the Harley same thing happens.................
I walk away and see the same thing in my mirror. The sport rider is
looking down at the tach and twisting the throttle.
Other manufacturers are always trying to find a good deal and seeing that Harley Inc has made a sweet niche for themselves for decades by properly identifying their target sales recipient. The others tried to catch some of that market, and to some extent, were successful. Harley did the same thing with their VRod offering. They're currently trying to enter the smaller bike market by offering up vastly lighter, less costly and more nimble motorcycles.

One thing you said I don't understand, about being paired up at a light and 'walking' away seeing the sport rider looking down at his tach and twisting the throttle. What is that? Maybe rephrasing it would help so I can stop trying to guess.

Who can remember these bikes? This is my winter restore project. A 64 Honda 250 CL Scrambler.....this was the bike to have back in the mid 60's....64 was the only year of the 250.....I had one just like it back in College and then some 305's......

This is what I hope it looks like when I'm done.....

That scrambler! My first ride other than homemade mini bikes. I lived very close to my high school and a senior (I was a freshman) bought a silver one but didn't want to risk parking in a high school parking lot. He would come by every morning and park it between my car and the garage door. After school I'd get to ride it. When I was a sophomore another guy had a 305 scrambler and later a Bonneville. He didn't have a car but did have a steady girlfriend. I had a car but no steady. Weekends were great even in the winter. Learned about watery eyes and eye protection, vibration, petcocks, tire pressure and chain adjustments.....and the rush of two wheeled speed! When he bought his Bonney it was like I had a new bike! All in all, remembering what his girlfriend looked like, he probably got the better of the deal......

I just sold my Victory Hammer. BTW, it was a great bike, I just didn't ride it enough to warrant the space it took up in the rather small garage that I currently have.

Right now I have a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX12R that I ride now and again but it is up for sale. Life changes happening and I am looking to get into learning to road race and I am after a cheap C4 to have some fun with.

This bike has just a few small mods but they seemed to help it quite a bit. Prior owner gave me (lost them somehow) the dyno sheets showing it was making 165 rwhp and 96 rwtq. Not bad for just a bolt on pipe, decatted, and a Power Programmer III. It made my 670/705 hp/tq Vette feel like a slug.

It is a hell of a road burner but it sits too much. I think 1,500 miles in the last 7 months and about 500 miles were in two rides I took. Has just a hair over 16k on it right now.

You can believe what you want but I have no problem with cornering. These bikes will do more than you think.

None at the moment, but itching... I think I see a Duc Monster in the near future for putting around town.

The old ones were 01 F4i, 03 600RR, 07 600RR

F4i - street/track duty

03 600RR - street then full racebike

07 600RR - street/track duty

Found a pic of my recent ride along the Avenue...very peaceful up there, shady and cool....

1979 CBX 1,047cc Six carburetor twenty four valve inline air cooled six, nearly 60,000 miles in 34 years with untouched motor.

For some reason I can't post a pic right side up. I've tried editing the one I chose and flipping it prior to attaching it and it still appears upside down. What the.....maybe you can see it right side up, pretty easy on an iPad.

I have a 2007 Suzuki GSXR-1000.
I have always had sport bikes my entire adult life.
I don't ride as much as I used to though.

I never added up the $$ I spent on it over the years. I'm glad I didn't keep track of that figure.
