Same situation here. Bought a new '12 coupe, got bored with it every time I seen a GS. So I traded it in one year later on a new '13 GS. Very happy now. I'll never buy another narrow body vette as the wide body is just a different looking animal with the bulging fenders and wide tires.

After seeing the GS, I fell in love with the aggressive look.
I never gave a thought to the Z06, because 436hp was enough for me, and it had everything else, at a reasonable price.
It was only after I came on these forums that I was called a "poser", and a "Z06 wannabe".
I couldn't believe how ridiculous, these guys were. There seems to be a consensus amongst a small group of people, that anyone with a Grand Sport, couldn't afford a Z06, so they are trying to imitate one.
They cannot seem to accept the fact that a huge majority of folks just liked the looks of the GS, period.
I don't know if it's jealousy, or plain stupidity, but it's most certainly ridiculous.

GS owners being called "posers" is news to me. I bought my GS vert in mid-2013 and have been on the forum gaining insight & information ever since. I have not detected any ridicule from owners of higher-level vettes. My only gripe has been spelling and grammar issues - but being in the catalog business causes me to instinctively proof-read everything. Not such a bad occupational hazard, I guess...

They always seem to come from guys with base models.
However, like I said, it seems to be a small group, I doubt that most folks feel that way.
As for your comments about spelin' and gramer, yes, I seen that alotta times, specialy usin' you're vs. your, or they're, vs, there, or their.
But hey, it is what it is I guess. We're old school.

Actually, I don't believe I've seen those comments from anyone with a Z06, or ZR1.

I felt the same as you did. Only difference was the '13 GS I bought was my first Corvette.

Actually, I think it's just a HUGE group of people who wanted the Z looks but also wanted an automatic, not that there is anything wrong with that. The GS is more affordable and has a removable roof, and that is important to many people. The one thing that drove me crazy was, when searching for a widebody corvette(I was looking at the Z06 and GS), I could never find a GS in the color I wanted with the options that I wanted but also had a M6 transmission. I ended up going with a Z06.

What ever the reasons, the GS was wildly popular.
I also couldn't find what I wanted in stock any where with an M6, so I special ordered it from Bowling Green.
The only thing that may cause me to sell my '13 GS, would be a C7 GS, if there ever is such an animal.
