Default LS2 Gets some new Valve Covers!!! PICS Inside

LS2 got some new Valve Covers Tonight
First install, the passenger side had no leaks, the drivers side leaked like a sieve. Took it off, re-seated the seal and and its doing good now.

Special thanks to member "'06 Quicksilver Z06" had some good tips from him

Hope you enjoy constantly polishing them to keep them from spotting and staining.

I have one of the first sets produced and they're now wrinkle black.

FYI, Hinson sells extra thick VC gaskets made by Yella Terra that provides extra crush

Yes, I noticed they require lots more torque than stock covers. If they get out of hand for maintenance, I'll go powder coated or chrome. Passenger side had no leaks from the get go. The driver side had to be re-seated 3 times. First time testing, there was oil everywhere.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but just an FYI, we make these for an alternate look.

Looks great!

These are the type of mods I like to see, especially the painted coils. Very original - I may just have to borrow that idea.

Another idea that I did that I don't see here much related to that is to paint the coils and split the fuel rail covers with a cutter or jigsaw and snap the top part back on to cover the fuel rails which leaves the coil packs exposed.

berk4422,

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but how are your coil packs attached now that you have aftermarket valve covers? It looks like the stock coil mounts, but what did you attach them to, if not the valve covers? Did you need other mounting parts?

If anyone else has suggestions on how to keep them off of the valve covers and what mount they are using, please disclose also. Thanks!
