Road Trip 2014
We left home last Sunday (Jul 27) at 6:00 AM, heading for the PGA Tour Golf Tournament in Akron OH. We arrived on Tuesday, after overnight stops in Providence, then Rochester.
The tournament finished on Sunday, with Rory McIlroy crowned the champion. Firestone Country club is beautifully manicured, and was able to absorb most of the rain that fell on and off over the 4 days. On Sunday, the ground crew had to squeegee the fairways and greens to get rid of the stream of water that had accumulated that morning (pic attached)
We left this morning from Akron, arriving in Bowling Green KY at 1 PM CST.
The Museum is a must visit for sure. It was our first visit, spent a few hours there, and we were impressed.
I had seen the pics of the sinkhole and the carnage of vehicles removed from the sinkhole, but seeing them in person almost brought a tear to the eye. I couldn't take pics of the mangled ones
Once we toured the museum, we headed out and touched down in Nashville for a restful evening.
So far we have logged over 1650 miles, and each and every mile has been fantastic.
We still have at least 1500 miles to get back home with a stop in Lancaster PA to challenge a few Amish buggies to a race
I believe I have 399 more horses than most of their buggies have
I'm not much on picture taking during trips, but I have snapped a few.
Enjoy

Leaving on a short (400 mile), road trip ourselves next week.
