No Vetting for a while . . .
We had a pretty bad flood here yesterday -- easily the worst in the 32 years I've lived here.
I live about in the middle of a mile-long road that loops off of a larger rural road. From my driveway north it is gravel; going south it is paved, although it wasn't in the greatest shape.
My basement had about a foot of water in it yesterday morning, and my well pump sits on the floor, submerged -- so no running water. I had to buy a sump pump yesterday, I emptied my basement, and got the well pump going by late last night.
The paved road going south is closed. The pix below show why. The gravel going north is in really rough shape -- I barely made it through there yesterday with my 4WD pickup. Even before this happened I wouldn't drive the Vette on it.
Main street, yesterday morning, in the nearest town to me (5 miles away):
So she rests in the barn, high and dry, until they get the road fixed and opened.

If you forget about it.....it might be the next great "barn find" in 50-60 years.
j/k
Definite bummer with that weather. Chin up. It will get fixed.

A few weeks ago we had one of those rainfalls. About 10 inches in several hours. Luckily our basement stayed dry but many around me who had never had water in their basements in over thirty years weren't so lucky. Several roads also washed out and still closed.
Those hundred year rains seem to be coming yearly events.

Hope it turns out OK for you. Glad the car is dry. Hope you have electricity still. Good luck.

Yes, between Honeoye (township of Richmond) and Naples. The picture of the flooded town is Honeoye. We're south of Rochester.

Thanks
Yup, off of CR 33, just over the hill from Bristol Mtn.
LOL @ "barn find"!
Yup, a local guy here, in his 70s (see link above) said this was worse than Hurricane Agnes in 1972. We got 6" of rain in about 24 hours.
See above.
Heh, I was thinking that too. Although Sunday was beautiful, I didn't go anywhere so she hasn't been run since Saturday.

After yesterday I thought for sure the water would have done it in. After I got the water out of the basement, I ran an electric heater next to it and after a couple of hours I plugged the pump in a couple of times but it blew the GFI each time. I tried it again last night about 10:30 and son-of-a-gun if it didn't take off and has been fine since.

What are those beautiful, lush green things along the roadside & around your garage? Oh those must be 'trees'! Must be fun driving a vette around in the environment. You'll be back on the road in no time, hopefully. Cheers!

Perry? Ha, you're not that far away. My mom was from the Cattaraugus area; I still have a couple of cousins there.
Yes, tis beautiful around WNY -- except for early spring.
I will assume you probably go to the Silver Lake car shows? I never have, but they're well known around here.
