Default play in drive train

I just bought a 2012 Corvette with 8,000 miles and there is ALOT of play ini the drive train; when I let off on the gas it clicks , and when I accelerate it clicks when it grabs the rear end; I am concerned, or is it normal??? It doesn't seem possible it is that loose normally???

Default Drive Train

I have a 2012 GS with the A6 trans and there isn't any play in my drive train. If I were you I'd have this checked out at the dealer since your car is still under warranty. This doesn't sound right to me and it may not turn out to be a big deal, but I'd get it checked out ASAP.

I had the same issue, turned out to be the axle nuts. 2 dollars each and some red lock tire and it is perfect now.

dctex99,

Sorry to hear about your drivetrain play. I realize how concerning that would be. Keep us posted on the results of your dealer visit. If necessary, I can contact their designated Customer Experience Manager if you have any additional questions. We'll look forward to your updates .

I have an auto also and noticed what seemed like slack in the drivetrain. I thought it was just normal with the auto. With the car in park, reach through the rear wheel and touch the cv joint. Rock the car forward and back with the tire. One side was fine, no slack. The right side had a loud clicking in the cv joint and I could feel it. Didn't have the right socket for the axle nut but it did not appear to be loose while watching it. Took it to the dealer today, under warranty.

if you just hearing the sound and not feeling anything then it is probably your axle nuts being loose - see my thread
