Default Navigation problems

On my 2008 convertible I get the following message on the nav. screen: "Caution Cannot load system software Disk type incorrect. Please insert correct system disk." I have version 8.00. The open/close, or eject button does not work, and I cannot turn on the radio. Anyone have this problem??

I fear that the cd has warped in the heat (has been over a 100), and has jammed the system. Anyone have a solution?

I got an 8.0 disk and inserted it into the DVD slot put the screen back up and it just says insert nav disk. It's already in there. Does anyone have this problem?

I have the same problem with the nav unit in my 2008. Sometimes it works fine (well, at least as it was intended to work), but it occasionally will start complaining about the disc. Ejecting and re-inserting the disc doesn't correct it. But turning the car off and back on usually does.

The factory navigation unit in the C6 was outdated back when they were installing it. I know some people like it, but as far as I am concerned, it's the worst feature on the car and I can't wait to get rid of it.
