For my C4 it was all about "Walk this Way" by Aerosmith. I think it sets the mood extremely well.

I like the one GM chose for the introduction of the C6. Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride. It says it all in one song.
As for the Beach Boy's Shut Down. I was in college during that era and whenever I saw a 413 run against a fuel injected Stingray the Stingray always lost. The 413 with the Dial a Win transmission was pretty much unbeatable. The car weighed about 250 lbs more than the Vette but had more HP/Tq and a better transmission for drag racing with the push button Torque Flight. They would come off the line almost perfectly every time.
Everybody I knew believed the story in the song indicates the Vette lost. The last phrase of the song is an acknowledgement of that loss in the way the I've Shut you Down is sung.
