Wanted to ask a quick question concerning clutch replacement.

What would be an average price to get a clutch replaced on a 2006 C6 base coupe? I called a few shops and just wanted to bounce the question off the forum before taking the dive.

Thanks all!

Over the years I've seen a range of "about" $1400 - $2300 with typical paid prices of about $1600 - $1700. A few have reported much less and some knowledgeable people have said it should be less than $1000 but the flat rate book says something around like $1800(ish).

I replaced the clutch in my C5. The set up is very similar to the C6 and should cost about the same. GM paid for the parts and I paid the labor, around $1,800.00 at the dealer. Any good speed shop should be able to handle it for less.

I recently bought an '05 that needed a clutch replacement for which I bought an OEM clutch disk and pressure plate ($317) with slave cylinder/throwout bearing ($235) at a local Chevrolet dealer and had the work done at a local shop for $1400. Had to have the flywheel resurfaced for $110. Total with parts was $2062 before taxes.

The work took longer than expected but the shop honored the estimate and charged me what he said he would.
