Is this really the value??

Is this really the value??
So I put my car up for sale just to see what I could get out of it. It's a 2008 m6 1lt with 21,000 miles, it's crystal red metallic has a full exhaust, intake and a tune. The car is pristine not a scratch or scuff anywhere on the car. I have a new wheels which cost a small fortune and everything is mechanically sound. I was getting offers from people that wouldn't go higher than $24k... Something just seems wrong about that? I was thinking more around the $35-37k correct me if I'm wrong but $24k just seems like tire kickers.

1LT m6 could be had for $39,900 new in 08. $24k is about right for a trade in but retail should be close to 30k. Mods don't add any value for resale.

$35-37k is definitely way overpriced. I know an 08 that sold for that price from a dealer back in 2011 but it was a loaded 4LT.

Actually, I saw them on the floor for $38.9K and that was for '08, '07 and '09s (1LT, no options). One can only wonder what earlier year C6s are worth.... I guess it depends on the marketplace, geographic location and time of year, not to mention condition, options to some extent, etc.

Seems about right as others have indicated. Had my '08 3LT RCM coupe (Z51 option) appraised at $30k and it's bone stock with 50k on the clock. I was surprised it was that much!

Here is a way to look at it. A base C7 is in the $50k range. Your car is 6 years older but at your price it is $15-20k cheaper. Most GM cars seem to lose 1/2 their value within 4 years. Mid $20k range for a base 08 is about right. Don't pay attention to dealer prices on the showroom floor. They also have $35k Malibus on the showroom floor, but they are not worth near that. If you had multiple offers with the highest being $24k then they are telling you what the market value is.

Dunno if this helps -- but if you go to the Chevy Certified Corvette Page -- you find a lot of 2009 -2010 for $32K -$34K range. that includes a warranty from GM -- plus that is asking price -- they'd probably take an offer of $500 off. Personally I'd buy a certified Corvette from a GM dealer before I bought from a private party.

Market Value
Hi
Being that i am in the market for a c-6 vert in Ga i can give you an idea on market values here and only here. First of all verts are not popular here because of the weather., so the vert up charge is not that great.
2005 -07 with 20,000 miles are very close in price option for option, i would say a coupe would range from $25,000 to $29,000 nicely equipped in pristine cond with the right options.
The 2008 brings it into the low 30's plus adding for again the right options.
The 08 is the primo yr to buy because the 09-13 were the same.
It is so hard to put a price on a vette because each one is unique so
Without all the info carfax vin report options tire condition mileage color cond of drivers seat and it goes on and on.
So when a price is discussed it is for that vette only.

To the extent you retained the stock bits and pieces, replace them and sell the aftermarket parts separately to people willing to pay you for them. That is usually the only way to get any money for them.

30 - 32 tops. I bought an 8054 mile 1LT a couple of years ago for 33000 and I thought that was a little high then..but it's headers, black wheels, glass top, tune and z06 spoiler made it worth it for me,which I might add is not true for everyone.mods usually detract from real world value.. One things for sure, your car is not going up in value.

In my area/Atlanta a fair price is 29-30k .... I just spent a year looking at a bunch of junk c6s that were high miles and many LS2...... all over 24k......I ended up with a 2012 for 35k....

The big reason they are worried modified cars get beat and also they are unsure of the quality of work.
If you own a Vette you plan to sell to a private party down the road- don't modify it.
You can most likely trade it in somewhere.
I know for myself personally that is always one of the first questions I ask also before I get serious about a car, if it has been changed any way from stock I just walk away.

Forum dealers were advertising left over brand new 1LT manual coupes in 2011 and 2012 for that $35-37k range.
The mid $20k's sound about right for the car you describe. A corvette that is around 5 years old goes for about 1/2 of the original sticker and a 2008 which came out in the fall of 2007 is rapidly approaching 7 years old.
Look your car up on Edmunds.com they are by far the most current, accurate and comprehensive valuations. I have bought and sold around 25 vettes and Edmunds is what I use for doing both.

$28 - $30 would be about right. Its been said over and over on CF that mods don't add much value, except to the owner, at least not anywhere near what you spent on the mods.
