Anyone switch NPP exhaust to something else?
I just purchased my 2012 with NPP exhaust. At first I was excited that it was not stock, but it is not the same as Borla & Corsa. It is better than stock. I pulled the fuse and not into turning it on/off with a M2W. I want it to sound good all the time.
I had BB Bullets, Corsa Sports, and Borla Stongers on my 2005 Corvette. Corsa and Borla sound great. BB was drone hell. The 2005 was M6 which is easy to shift out of drone. However, my 2012 is auto and not as easy to shift out of the drone range.
So my question. I am between Corsa Sports or Borla ATAk for a 2012 AUTOMATIC. Is there any drone in these 2 axle back exhaust systems (most importantly in a automatic)?
I feel safe with Corsa but do like the sound of the Borla ATAK but not sure how much drone I would get with an automatic?
So which exhaust did you switch to (i.e. from NPP)?
Thanks.

Npp?
I like this idea, but it sounds like you've made up your mind to eliminate the NPP exhaust in favor of Corsa or Borla. I'd at least try the M2W switch first and then if you don't like it go for the after market exhaust. I have a 2012 with NPP and I love it. I think it's the neatest factory exhaust i've seen to date, but I don't have the experience you have with after market exhaust so i'd like to know what you decide on and how you like it. You may convince me to switch down the road.

Why the idea of putting the fuse back in when you can accomplish the same with a simple switch...??

I don't want a remote to turn on sound turn off sound. It should sound good all the time. With a mustang, the exhaust sounds good stock. The corvette requires some tweaking :-)

Hope you don't mind me chiming in here but there's no drone associated with our ATAK system for the C6. We completely redesigned our C6 systems in 2011 and released new versions which eliminated drone. We had drone issues with some of our older systems so there's some confusion in the marketplace from those who don't know that we redesigned all of our C6 to eliminate drone. Anyhow, it's been over 3 years since the redesign and the feedback has been really good.

My question is how manageable is the Borla ATAK on an AUTOMATIC as they are more susceptible to drone. I like an aggressive exhaust that doesn't have that drone hum. Can you have a conversation with ATAK exhaust?
Thanks.

PS Are there any group buys/coupons for Borla?

I have the Borla ATAK on my C6Z with the M6 transmission. There is no drone at all when just cruising.
Another member asked me if i could make a short video of the ATAK. So here it is.

Ultimately this is your choice and you will do what appeals to you. Before tossing out the NPP system, understand that the NPP system does more than sound good. It also tells your car's computer to add extra fuel to the mixture to give more HP while also minimizing the risk of running lean. Your car. Your choice.
