Radar Detector Power Down
My 2007 Corvette is my first GM car and am installing a radar detector. All other cars that I have had I have been able to find something in the fuse panel that shuts off the detector when car is shut down. In my Vette, I have tried the radio fuse, as well as several other fuses that go "dark" when the car is turned off, but to no avail, the radar detector stays on. (How?) I have seen threads on here that posters just unplug or turn the radar detector off. No other options???? I am afraid I am going to forget to turn my detector off and drain the battery...

If you tap into the rearview mirror for power your detector will cycle on and off with the ignition. I use this setup on my Passport and it works great.

unplug the harness to the mirror. the pink wire is + and the black wire is -. use a voltmeter to confirm. you will need to cut the harness to you detector.
make sure you double check the polarity at the plug going into the detector. I made my own for another car. I striped the wire folded it and slid it into the harness. I then used a zip tie to hold the wires together onto the mirror harness.
I used 1 drop of silicone on the radar bracket and stuck it to the glass, allowing it to dry overnight.
