B&B Exhaust replacement advice

B&B Exhaust replacement advice
I bought my 2007 with B&B exhaust system on it already installed. Don't know much about it but it is great in town to hear the rumble but on the highway the drone is just too loud. Especially going up into the mountains in Utah; there is no relief. I purchased the insulator pads and they really didn't make enough difference cutting down the drone. We wear ear plugs but that is really a ridiculous way to enjoy this vehicle. So I like the rumble sound of the B&B but need something about half as loud that is better than stock and doesn't sound like a foreign made sportscar. Advice and is it expense it change out the system? Can I resell the B&B system?
Thanks in advance

not too many options that well give you that deep rumble without drone. a couple of the "european race car" sounding exhausts like corsas doesn't drone but doesn't give you that rumble your desire. maybe npp is for you but may not be loud enough without headers. and yes...your b&b exhaust will sell. which b&b exhaust do you have?

I agree.
NPP with a Mild to Wild switch that leaves them open all the time until you press the button to close them to very quiet. Not as loud as B&B bullets, the bullets sound better.

I had the B&B bullets and yes they are bad(Drone) on a 2000. I just put on the PRT B&B and they have no drone on my 2012. The only time I hear them is when your getting on them. I have an auto if that makes a difference. What I do like is at 50 to 80 mph you can have a conversation with the person next to you at a normal voice. I live in KC. Mo. so no mountains here.I know when we went out west your pulling RPM going up hill the bullets sucked. Wife and I couldn't even have a conversation without yelling.
You can tell the bullets by looking under at the exhaust pipe and all you see is expanded pipe, not a muffler. Yes, you can sell them and buy a used set on the forum.

My best advice to you is Corsa Sport. Won't be cheep. My cost installed at Chevy Dealer was $1385 and since I have an 09 no X pipe was needed. Every one is different on the sound. Perhaps you could find some Corvette club close to you.
I really like the Corsa sound. Chug chug at idle, no drone at HWY speeds and sounds really mean when you let the badger out.

I went with Akrapovic and wired up a manual rocker switch and mounted it on the empty tombstone plate in my '07Z (they provide the wiring instructions for their ridiculously overpriced wireless controller). Lots of deep rumble when driving around town with lots of loud, deep rumble when on the gas. I can flip the switch on the highway and still have a good tone with next to no drone (less than the stock exhaust droned when open).
Personally, it's the best tone I've heard on a C6, but I'm a little biased since I've always had Akrapovic on my motorcycles too.
-EDIT-
The Akra system may not be an option since it comes in the 3" pipe diameter for the Z06/ZR1 (not sure if you have a base or not). If a base, you could always do the Z06 exhaust upgrade and then put the Akra pipes on.

Has anyone had experience with Flowmaster exhaust systems? I want some muscle sound without drone as we head to the mountains. The B&B is just too loud even with ear plugs the constant drone is irritating and makes your ears ring at night. Might end up going back to stock and just enjoy the car as it is? Wife doesn't want to take long rides anymore with the B&B.

You should check out the Billy Boat Fusion is a aftermarket NPP and with them closed you get no highway drone and open you get a nice rumble. I have them on my 2008.

Too bad you don't live in the DC area (from the sounds of it). I have a couple of sets of new OEM mufflers you can have if you want. You just need to pay for ship and pack.
