Default Opinions of value

Hello All,
I am currently looking hard at a specific car and before I begin to negotiate a figure, I was looking to everybody here for their opinions of its value. I have a figure in mind,,,,,,I want to be fair (not a low baller), but I do not want to overpay either. The car is a 2010 Grand Sport Convertible and located in Northern New Jersey. The car has just under 10,000 miles, it is a 6 speed and it has had 2 owners. The car is advertised as being absolute mint condition. The car has 3 LT trim, chrome aluminum wheels, navigation, Dual Exhaust, full width spoiler. The sticker on the car was 71,500. The asking price on this car is at 47,000. The car is a few hours from me and before I make the drive to look I want to make sure the seller and I agree on a price as to not waste their time or mine. Guys, thanks in advance on your opinions of value,,,,,,,I appreciate it.

Sounds like areal nice car. I also have a 2010 GS with the 3LT. 47k in my opinion is a bit on the high side if you compare to what is available on the forum for sale with similar mileage, trim, etc. I would think 42-44k would be more inline. Good luck.

I agree that price sounds high. I'm thinking more like 39-40. But the "fair" value is what you and the seller both think is reasonable, not what anyone else thinks.

Throw an offer of $42k and be willing to part with $45k. Sounds nice.

Yes, I agree, too, re the price. But if it really is as nice as it sounds, maybe it's worth it. Do all your due diligence tho since if this is a private sale, once you pay for it, there's no coming back (like you might have recourse if it's a dealer---even then, it'd be difficult).

i would go there with $39k hard.. leave... then hit em back with $41k couple days later and be happy with it. $41k wouldn't hurt you if the that car is as described..

Take whatever the MSRP was, deduct about 15 grand +-.Then maybe another 5 grand on top of that for depreciation.I say this because at the end of the C6 run,new ones were being discounted 15-17 grand all over the place...for 2013's! I'd have a hard time justifying paying close to the same money for a now 5 year old Vette as I paid for a new one..that's just me.

I have an 08 vert, original sticker $72K (z51, nav, npp, chromies, 3lt) with 48k miles. Mine should sell for $31,500 or so. Two years newer add $6k, miles, add another $6k.

IMHO a fair price would be $43,500. More than that and its a good deal for the seller, less, its a good deal for you.

If you really like the colors you might go another $1-1500 because you could look a long while to find the right color combination.

Face it, from 2010-2013 not a lot of Corvettes were sold.
