1500 took 40 hours? Why so slow? I normally average about 73 including stops for gas. That would be just over 20 hours of driving leaving 20 hours for 1 night and tours. Rather leisurely if you ask me. What? No one asked me? I would have sworn someone asked.
Glad you enjoyed it. It is even better when you are taking museum delivery, get a personal tour, and then get to take one of the cars on display at the museum home to own.

Very Cool. I did 1,575 miles in 34.5 hours on my Harley once. Got two Ironbutt certifications.

Once I drove a VW Bus across country in 3 days. 2840 miles or there about.
San Francisco to Annapolis Maryland. Back around 1971.

One reason I will not attend big venues.
Traffic is just to brutal for me anymore.
I would like to see the Indy 500 but am very reluctant due to the logistics.

Don't know the mileage when we drove from the left coast to the right coast, started at 8am Friday and reported aboard 6pm Sunday. Mack and I were at the Jolly Roger Monday night like it never happened. Can't buy young and dumb with money!

1500 miles in 40 hours?
I routinely (every other month) drive 600 miles in nine hours and I'm 73.

We just got back from the Sturgis Camaro Rally. 2,400 miles (including side trips) in a week with a 45 year old car (Wife's 69 SS Camaro). Average highway speed 78 MPH. We ran 83 to 85 on I-90 in South Dakota. Had to slow down a little when we got back into Iowa and Missouri. The TKO 600 sure helps keep the RPM's down a little at those sustained speeds versus the original Muncie M-22. The General built them to be driven. Our 69 Vette had the original M-21 in it and on a trip back from Arlington Texas, we were running about 83 or so and the tach was at 3,200 for three straight hours. It didn't hurt anything but it sure was screaming.

I must be getting old because anything with bumper to bumper traffic just isn't my cup of tea. I hate the traffic in my area and it's only going to get worse. People are moving here where I live in droves and the roads are not expanding fast enough to keep up with all the new drivers coming to the area. We used to have morning and evening rush hour, but now it's "Rush Hour" all day long with no let up. There are so many retirees here that there isn't a morning and evening rush hour any more.
