I hear that argument all the time but mustangs really don't handle bad. The boss302 handles amazingly well, and the Shelby isn't that bad either.

Having had a PIG srt Challenger I can tell you that most people will stain their pants before the Challenger gives in to twisities...and the brakes are fantastic...and push a button ands it rides smooth as butter.
The Hellcat will be even better....And I promise you it will outrun your Corvette in the turns with FIVE people in both cars...
Oh and before all the fanbois spout quality I have two letters for you....GM.
You're driving a car made by GM.

Only Special....
The new 707 HP Challenger will be a terror in the quarter mile, it will be very expensive, and most of all there will be very, very few of them. Just like Hemi's back in the day you could not go out and just buy one on the lot, they were special. Just like the Vipers and Prowlers, they are very limited production cars. You will have to have a 100K AND know someone. I bet I never see one on a grocery run on the street but they will only be on the cover of magazines.

I should have said five people and five sets of clubs.
I like all hot cars and try not to minimize great accomplishments like the c6 and the Challenger and the Mustang......
The Hellcat is a grand slam though if your into American flavor of full unadulterated DETROIT flavored iron...with a twist of garlic in there...

FWIW, I was 16 yrs old in 1967. That was right in the middle of the HP wars. I thought I'd never see that again. yet, here it is. And Mopar has stepped up the game like they did in the 60's. I'm really glad to see it, even if I'm driving a lowly 420 HP Corvette.

Well said. I think we agree that other hot cars shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Sure, I'm glad to be a corvette driver. I think its a great car. But I'm not tangling with the Hellcat in the straights and I'm going to give him respect even in the curves.

Gm engineers are the best at chassis dynamics and it's true dodge does deserve credit for what they have achieved here.
I'm sure gm could have upped the power of the LT4 yet the improvement in acceleration was minimal.
Notice the torque peaks are both 650 lb ft.

fact is, you're gonna need a bigger paddle regardless.

Curious that it's a cast iron block. Perfect for upping the boost on the supercharger. With the inevitable mods, this car will be a force to be reckoned with on the street. Good for Mopar. GM and Ford, it's your move.

I like the look and the HP is impressive, but the Challenger is HEAVY, and once the road turns weight is a cars biggest enemy, for both handling and braking. The C7Z06 will spank it's butt and send it home.

Seriously though...Challenger guys are not interested in Corvettes, and most of the Vettes are in the garage anyhow...Especially z06's...
Most Challenger guys only want to beat TWO cars...

Considering they weigh the equivalent of a Boeing 777, they need the power.

Wow, I'll have to say that I am impressed to see that Dodge is finally getting serious about upping their game in the Challenger: 707hp!
Look out for these things on the street.
