Rear Bumper letters
How well do the rear bumper letters stay in place?
I would like to get the Stainless letters but I wonder if they stay in place or loosen up over time etc

Food for thought.... I had the stainless ones on my last Corvette and they always caught my detail rags. YMMV

Go to Wally World, buy a Paint Pen in the color of your choice (about $2). Clean letters with alcohol, let dry 2 minutes. Paint, let dry, apply 2nd coat, done.
Paint pens are located in the art supply department (Painter's Medium Paint Pen)

I have the chrome plastic/vinyl letters from RPI.
They flex with the bumper and I've had no issues with them catching on the cloths/buffer.
Prep is the key, scrub with alcohol and use an adhesion promoter.

Had them (stainless letters) on my black C5 for eight years with no issues and have them on my currant 2008 C6Z06 now since new and again no issues just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol before you apply !!

Paint won't shine like chrome but it won't catch on the cloth when washing or detailing. VERY easy to do and will last the life of the car.

Rear Lettering
There is a thread on this forum that takes you through a very simply way of masking and spray painting, then using mineral spirits to wipe away the over spray using a flat surface. I tried it using chrome paint on my black corvette, it came out super the first time.
Never one to leave a good thing alone, 2 weeks later, [ realizing that there is a fine line between class and crass ] I re-masked and applied 3 additional coats of Rustoleum Silver glitter over the first effort.
It looks great ! I've had several people take photos of the rear when I am at traffic lights and at night the effect is spectacular. Unfortunately the glitter effect does not photograph at all, so I can not attach a photo of the effect, and you need to avoid the area with cleaning rags as they will tend to snag. Rustoleum also makes the Glitter paint in gold flake. If you try it and don't like it, it's a simple matter, [ about 10 minutes ] to remove it.
{ Before I did the car, I tried my technique on outside bottom of my grandson's wading pool which has a indented design, the pool looks good also }

Being the perfectionist that I am, cost VS time ratio = Adhesive backed lettering
I have painted more than my share of cars and engines and this is one project that I don't feel the desire to tackle
