All I'm asking really is...Do you "tell" the wife to leave some of her dresser at home? make her take a different car?or?
I just asking as my wife wants to fill the car with crap LOL.
I'm glad its a vert or she would have me adding roof racks and a tow bar!!( i'm only talking a week)

My wife is like yours I guess, can't wear the same outfit twice and needs two outfits a day.
This what I did, I shipped care package to the Hotels we stayed at, and when done shipped them back home. One trip we made, they were waiting for us at three different hotels on our trip. Also whatever we bought, packed it away and shipped back home. Works for me.

Leave your wife at home? My wife is an excellent packer. Also, soft luggage is a must. We fit all our needs for 3 weeks at the beach in the vert; top up for the trip. I think you have to expect to do some washing some where along the way as well as packing veritle outfits.

I agree with others. We took a 2000 mile trip to the mountains last year and didn't have any trouble. It's surprising how many small items you can put in the nooks and crannies of a vert trunk or in front of the speakers behind the seats. We carried a canvas bag of the wife's hair stuff, shoes, etc. We unbagged them in the trunk and pushed the bag in the corner. When we got to the hotel we just pulled out the bag and put all the smaller items back in the bag. Worked for us and even had a little room for some small purchases.

We pack 2 soft sided carry-ons lengthwise in the trunk with the partition down. That leaves some usable space between the two carry-ons for her bag of cosmetics, hair dryer, etc. There is also space for a mid-sized cooler, as well as some space (about 6") towards the back end of the trunk for whatever will fit. If necessary a garment bag can be placed on top of all this if it isn't too thick. We have been traveling like this for years with no issues, except for the crap the wife has to buy along the way.

When I had a vert, we used two roller bags and those plastic bags that you use a vacuum on to remove the air. Worked for us. BTW, the plastic bags actually will fit under the top shield so we could put the top down.
Now we have a coupe. No problem.

I tell mine she doesn't have to take any underwear. Those parachutes take up a lot of room.

My wife has it down to a science. We've been traveling in a vette vert since 2002. It is more challenging than a coupe. Just can't take the tent and camping supplies anymore. Couple of soft sided bags, one on each side of the trunk, another bag for her curling iron, etc... and a cooler in the middle. Unfortunately, she has figured out that most stores will ship home the souvenirs.

We have never had a problem. It seems to be enough for two people. Soft luggage is best. I try to keep the top shield in place because I have read that it fails sometimes when lowering it.

The few times I've had to travel long distances with more than eleven cubic feet of stuff, I've hooked up a small utility trailer to my Class I hitch.

Plenty of room for the wife and I. Always use soft-sided bags, varying sizes to tuck here and there, you'll be surprised how much you can get in there. We've taken a couple of two-week trips and never lacked for anything.

This falls firmly within the category of "choosing your battles". You might "win" this one but within a year or two you'll be ponying up for a new SUV. You've got a Vette and a wife who likes to ride in it. I'd quit while I was ahead.

Retired & lovin' it!
Pack everything in duffel bags....plenty of room in the vert trunk with the top up. After that....FedEx is your friend. If she's really a pack-rat, use FedEx ground to ship to your hotel stops & then back home. I've even done that on ski trips.....rather than drag skis thru airport terminals + paying the extra baggage fees, just ship FedEx.
