GS Tire Recommendations
I'm buying a 2010 Grand Sport that is in Michigan and bringing it back to California. The front tires are shot and won't make the trip so I was thinking of replacing them with some Michelin Pilot Super Sports, only to find they are on back order until who knows when.
I'd like non run flats, in the standard 275/35/18 and 325/30/19 size. Most of my driving will be on the street, with one maybe 2 HPDE a year, so I'm more interested in a street tire but want to be able to play with my car also.
What would you guys recommend and have you had Michelins to compare them to. I'd also appreciate any cost comparison input also.

A bunch of guys have asked this over the past week or so and get ready for the solution... Do the 285 345 combination, no tire size issues causing rubbing or traction control issues.

The Michelin SS are the best and they are cheaper than the OE runflats. I am far from a Michelin fan boy, but these tires transformed the car......I have had Toyo/Nitto on other cars and been less than impressed, not much else in these sizes.

Where in SoCal? Several of us are headed to Willow Springs on Saturday, June 28th.

I live in the Delta about 1 1/4 hours from Willow Springs. I'll be driving my new to me car home on the 28th or I'd come up and meet some SoCal fellow Corvette owners. Have fun and remember you can take corner 1 at over 100 mph.

I just put the new Hankook ventus V12 evo2 on my 10' GS and love em!! But I'm in the minority here. Seems most people here only talk about the Michelin and Bridgstones. Lack of knowledge and experience with the hankook must be to blame. Lol

You will get many folks touting their tire choice (Bstone Potenza on my 2011 GS) but, I think, everyone will agree you should get a quality 4whell alignment. Go with standard GS specs if you are going to track the car...base specs (for tire life) if you are not.
Just sayin...

So what tires did you end up going with?

Hello Don, this is good to hear as I have they same style set of Hankook in my garage waiting to go my '10 GS. I'm hoping for the same satisfaction as you're having with your tires.

I'm concerned with Michelin's inability to maintain stock in our tire sizes. Their back order for PS2's has been going on for 6 months.

Don, I'm on back order for Michelin PS2's but am now considering canceling my order and going non run flat. Rather than go Michelin again, I'm considering the Hankooks.

You will not be disappointed with them I guarantee! Ventus V12 evo2 (K120)

I just did the same and I love my Evo2s. They're so much better overall than the OE Gen1 GYs. Not going to retype my comments on them, but a simple search should find my post in the Hankook thread.

Discount Tire just called me, tires came in one day.
Now just have to figure out how to get time to bring them the wheels, not taking the whole car in. Excited and hope to get them on by the weekend to go for a ride.
My F1's are at 15k miles and down to the wear bars on all 4 corners.
