Default What are insurance rates for 2013 427 CE running

I am about to buy a 2013 427 1SC Collector's Edition. What are insurance rates running for an adult driver with a clean record and what companies are you using?

Not trying to be rude, but you're asking a question that no one can possibly answer.

It's like asking how many stars are in the sky???

Each state is different, each carrier has different underwriting requirements.

Age, driving history, coverages both mandatory and optional, etc., etc., etc.

One person may be paying $800 a year, while someone else is paying $1,500 every 6 months, and both may be reasonable.

Unfortunately there are so many factors involved in determining rates. Zip code, driving record, bundling, etc. Everyone's a bit different.
You're best bet is to simply get a few quotes.
Good luck.

It appears none of the posters so far wish to answer your question. While they make a valid point about the variance of insurance, none chose to actually answer your question. I live in Dayton Ohio and I pay $950 per year through Liberty Mutual. My 427 is listed as a pleasure vehicle and is one of four vehicles on my policy with two adult drivers. Obviously, your location may certainly effect your pricing but at least you have one answer now. Hope you get the 427 and enjoy it as much as I do mine. It is a marvelous machine!

I believe they did. It's nearly impossible to answer an insurance question accurately because so many other factors are involved such as age, location, driving and claim history, credit score, home ownership and so on.

I don't believe anyone here was being facetious.

call your insurance company for a quote and then call a few more companies to see how much they want for the same coverage. When I bought my GS (not a 427 special model like the car you are buying) I didn't call ahead of time. I was buying my car whatever the insurance cost. I'd been with Geico over 30 years and I was shocked when I was quoted $57 more per year than I'd been paying for a 2012 Impala! The lady I spoke with had one question and she asked "this isn't a Z06 is it?" and she said it would have been more if I'd bought a Z06 (which I'd love to own by the way). I would imagine your 427 will be slightly more than a LS3 GS.

Good luck with your insurance.

Are you sure that's per year and not every six months? If it's per year you have a great rate. I live in SC also and mine wasn't but $57 more than I'd been paying for a 2012 Impala.

Don't overlook that many insurance companies will discount auto rates if you also have your homeowners with them.

Some other factors involved in determining your rate could include your credit rating, whether you rent or own a home, and how far your home is from your place of work

I am insured by GEICO and my 427 runs about $198.00 for six months. My Audi Q5 runs slightly higher at around $220.00/6 months. Both of these vehicles are listed as pleasure because my employer provides me a vehicle to drive and use for work.

It's not that myself and others don't wish to answer his question, it's simply pointless to do so.

I could have posted this from my carrier, GEICO.

It shows that I pay $482 every 6 months, or $964 per year....this information is of no value what-so-ever to the OP.

He needs to get his own personal quotes.

very difficult to answer, but I can tell you that when I went from my 2008 Vert to my 427 vert last year my insurance went up like $15.00 and I thought it would of been much more based upon the value of the car over the base 2008, I am over 50 clean driving record so take it for what it is worth.

Everything you say is absolutely correct but that is not the kind of answer the OP wanted regardless of how valid that answer is. I never said anyone was trying to be facetious. The OP asked a simple question, "what are rates (as in plural) running on a 427." The info the first few posters presented was valid but not what the OP asked for. If enough people from all over the country respond with their actual numbers, the OP should be satisfied as that is all he asked for. The OP will find out soon enough what it is going to cost him and that really is all that is important. At least he would have a range of pricing to base whether he is being treated fairly or not. Everyone is correct that his circumstances may not match any poster with their cost data, but that is not for us to determine. Simple questions require nothing more than simple answers.

Now that is the answer the OP was looking for. You are absolutely correct that his circumstances may vary widely from yours, but all he wanted was other owners' insurance cost information. As we can all see, the pricing is kind of all over the place. At least he has a range to determine how he is being treated by his insurance carrier.

The majority of insurance cost is from medical payouts. Thus, cars that tend to have less crashes causing serious injuries are cheaper to insure. I ended up in a Vette because the 370Z was significantly more expensive to insure.

So thanks all you old dudes who don't drive and/or crash your vettes! The young punks driving 370Zs and maiming and/or killing themselves really drive up insurance rates.
