Oil Smell
Recently purchase a used 2012 GS with 5000 miles from GM dealer. Each time I take it out I get a burnt oil smell coming through the air vents when stopped at a light or pulling into the garage.
Took it into the dealer where they removed 1/2 quart of oil as the oil was 1/2 inch over hash marks. Oil changed by dealer prior to delivery!
They looked for oil on the engine both from spillage and leaks but engine is clean, clean, clean. Today I took off the engine cowlings and there is no signs of any leakage. Engine is brand new.
Dealer is confused as well.
Any thoughts.....

Many c6 owners complaint of a burnt oil smell or perhaps spent exhaust in the cabin especially upon hard to wide open throttle. IIRC the thought was some exhaust with or without that burnt oil smell wicks itself back into the cabin. I have not yet heard of the same coming in through AC vents. One would think spilled oil on exhaust manifold or the like but if the engine bay is that clean....

Common problem after an oil change. A lot of us deal with the issue. No definitive answer/solution to the problem. It will more than likely go away after awhile and return when you change your oil again.
