probably scarred the crap out of the guy in the Stupid-roo...

We had a 2005 roof delaminate (solid color panel) back in '05 and they did a huge recall on them. The dealer took care of it under warranty. Ours didn't come completely apart like what you just showed, but it was getting close.

Good that it didn't kill him...This entire problem could cause much more damage than it has...GM has been lucky with this one.

Has nothing to do with latches, the outside panel comes unglued from frame, issue affected fixed roof panels and removable ones

Yep it is a fixed roof, the panel came apart and flew off. Good news is that about a month ago I turned the recall in to my dealership and they already have the roof panel in, just awaiting paint and install. Should have it done this coming week. Figures it gives out a few days before I was having it replaced anyway.....lol

I'm guessing that ended your day at the track. The Neon driver looked like he spooked towards the end and hit the brakes and swerved around. Pray for a good paint match.

Yeah that was my first and only pass.....
Actually had the roof done in gloss black so my whole roofline will be black!

Jeez.. never saw that on a Z before.. I've seen the "flying roof" when latches are neglected, but I wasn't aware the top panels were separating on fixed roof cars... whew...

Yeah thats a friend of mines Neon SRT4 and its actually pretty quick. He made 437 whp and 453 wtq and he was running on ET drag slicks for that run.
