Default My Review - Corsa Performance Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake

OK, gang, I'll keep this short and sweet.

And I know some will flame due to "why have one" etc...I liked how it looked, and, after having driven with it for the first time, I like how it sounds and performs.

Now, I am not an expert, and this will be a seat-of-the-pants review, plus my ears, for my new Corsa CAI on my '13 GS Coupe.

When at a stop, and you get into the pedal, you definitely get more of a rumble from the engine compartment as it gulps air initially...this goes away quickly, but, it is an awesome sound!

The seat-of-the-pants feel is, it just "seems" smoother from the jump. Smoother up to speed, whether on it or just easing up to speed...no way to prove/disprove any "gains", nor does that matter much to me.

Installation: FOLLOW the instructions. I made a boneheaded move of trying to use the existing screws from the MAF instead of their provided ones when I swapped it....damn near screwed up the holes in the CF..one safely came out, no harm/no foul...the 2nd one I needed pliers ..but I still got their screw to tighten.

Loosen the 2 clamps completely on the rubber neck/connector until the almost separate..It is most definitely difficult to get that fat azz filter end down and yet also be able to coax the rubber neck onto the intake opening....in hindsight, I should have put maybe some wet soap around it...in any event..it was tougher than I thought it'd be on the reinstall.

After it's done, start the car and let it run 10 mins....it let's the MAF "adjust" to the new airflow....

Drove it as various speeds to work today, for 22 miles...and also to lunch later...no idiot lights...and I love it.

YMMV...but if I had to do it over again, yep, I'd do it.

Can't see the pics. edit, figured it out. My 'ad blocker' was blocking the pics. Looks nice!

Did you do any before and after testing of anything, like say 0-60 times????

Good luck with the CAI - second edit - that's not a true CAI......

Final edit - those spikes look damn dangerous!!! LOLOL

Yeah, yeah...not a CAI... That's just what Corsa, Halltech, etc all call them...

Nope, no testing...it wasn't about the 0-60 times for me.

And spikes, well, I have the Ghost Rider theme going on...so, I bought black chrome spikes and mounted them to my painted radiator shroud for effect, a la Nic Cage's jacket...

The OP can open the filter area and get some cool air in, with the Vette air trick.

Yes, and here's a look at the unassembled parts out of the box. Monster sized filter.

And the growl the engine makes upon initial acceleration is just nasty and intoxicating.

I agree with your review. I really like my Corsa Cool Air Induction set up also. I also had a hell of a time getting it all lined up when I put it on....they did not leave much room to manuver......I too like the look and the sound it makes when you get on it.....

Here is how it looks on my car....
