In 2010 I took my car in because the low beams were not working. They replaced the fuse box at that time, which of course fixed the problem. When I received the recall notice this year, not only did I have the jumper wire fix done, but I also completed the reimbursement form that was included with the letter. Today in the mail I received a reimbursement check for the full amount of the fuse box replacement done in 2010

Does this only affect Corvettes?

Smooth sailing the Chev. dealership that did this recall work on my car finished within 1 hour and there are no problems.

— Nearly 112,000 Chevy Corvettes from 2005 through 2007 because they can lose low-beam headlights. GM says when the engine is warm, an electrical housing can expand and bend a wire, causing it to fracture. GM will also repair Corvettes from 2008 through 2013 if owners have the problem.
Last time I went in to Bankstone Chevy, The mechanic threw my keys on the roof. Found the manager and WOO HOO a free oil change. Haven't been back except for parts.

Seriously, he pitched the keys on the roof? I wouldn't do that to a chit box Chevy let alone a Corvette. What an asshat. Guy needs to find a new line of work like working at an auto wreckers, not screwing up customers cars at a Dealership. Jeesh!

got my recall notice about 3 weeks ago. I really don't want to take it to the dealer to do the work. Does anybody have pictures of what was done or a the installation work sheet they give the mechanic that installs the jumper?
thanks

Default Only Needed Access Under the Hood on Passenger Side

2007 C6 Z51 Corvette Coupe (Original Owner) Headlight Fix:

Got ours done about a month ago and only involved the relay box on the top of right fender under the hood (just ahead of the battery). We were very concerned they would be working inside the front fenders near the headlights and the mechanic assured us they wouldn't be anywhere near the front headlight area of our car.

Only under the hood in the external relay & fuse box. Only took about 20 minutes after adding a fuse jumper wire and then running the computer diagnostics for about 15 minutes more (after they reconnected the battery). No problems for us and "Outstanding" service too. Guess we have a great Dealer!

Default Recall

Bankstone Chev did the recall. They said 1hr and 45 min so I went to Subway. Got back in 45 mins and my girl was just pulling into the service area. Perfect timing. There was a pos in front of me but as I walked out, it drove off. Service agent wanted me to buy him a lotto ticket. Great job by a dealer.

That is the right amount of time. I think it is mentioned somewhere in writing. When my car was at dealership I could see mechanic working on mine removing plug in type modules. I went to parts dept. Then got coffee and before I could finish the coffee the car was already done. We are fortunate round here to have a top flight dealership with Corvette Techs.

Am I mistaken, or are there no recalls for 2009 Vettes? I looked around on some of the attachments to posts on the first page and there was no mention of 2009 specific recalls.

Ragtop:

Our 2009's also have been recalled for the low beam headlight jumper wire fix. Got my notice from the Mother Ship a couple months ago.

Took mine in for the recall and was told they have to order a "special tool" to do the recall. Makes me think that mine is the first one they've done and now I'm having second thoughts about getting it done. At least at this dealership.

Anyone have their claim taken care of by GM if you already paid for it? I sent them my official reimbursement letter about 2 months ago and haven't heard ****. Typical of them though.
