Tangible reasons for Coupe vs Convertible

My wife was driving an 1990 Nissan 300zx that had a great trunk for her garden stuff (like bricks). When we decided to get rid of it because it was unreliable, she thought she would replace it with a newer Nissan such as a 350Z or a 370Z but there luggage areas are small. But when she looked at the trunk of the C6 coupe, it was so much larger that she got a C6. So it really is a sort of pickup.

I love my cat's, but damn you stock up!
I used my C6 to haul a new dishwasher still in the box along with a new lawn mower still in the box. They wouldn't fit in my DD Taurus so the Vette will do and did. It's funny all the people saying funny things to me when I'm moving that stuff around too.

I've owned more than a few Corvettes over the past 40+ years, every single one of them a convertible. There is no substitute, and no comparison. I have driven many, many coupes and to me, they are just not as much fun. And no, taking the targa top off does not make them "just like a convertible". Not even close.
Buying a Corvette because of it's cargo capacity or increased practicality?
Give me a break. Go buy a truck.

Not sure about women and convertibles. They get pissed about the wind messing up their hair. They prefer to arrive not looking like a ***** who was ravaged by thirty seven guys who like to pull hair.

I am handicapped and use an electric scooter. I am able to get it in both a C5 coupe and a C6 coupe and probably will be able to put it in a C7 coupe. I cannot do this with a vert.

This wouldn't be a factor for most people, but...
The wife and I are retired, and like to take long road trips and vacations. I could get by with just my half of the convertible trunk, she would be less happy.

I have owned both in Grand Sport trim. I loved my 11 3LT Vert and contrary to what people think it does have plenty of room if you fold the roof partition down. True, you won't be able to lower the top but you won't be storing the roof in a loaded coupe either. Vert also has hidden storage while the coupe's is open unless you have it covered with the shower curtain.
Vert has more wind noise which is expected since you basically have a piece of cloth between you and the elements. The Vert would be easier to vandalize. Vert's insurance is 20% more expensive. If you flip in a vert you are screwed, yes they are hard to flip.
With the coupe you have roof rattle once in a while, it seems to get better gas mileage, trunk space is bigger but the rear window part is not good for music and it amplifies road noise.
It is hard to screw up with either to be honest. I switched back to a coupe though because I have a skin condition that seems to hate the sun or being hot. I found that out in Vegas when I had the top down most of the weekend.
A coupe does handle better as the Vert does have some sway a bit. My vert didn't like uneven roads while my coupe could care less about them.
And yes, I carried a bike inside my coupe when my wife's 300C couldn't. I had to take off the front wheel.

Although I prefer the usual black interior, that is a very nice looking interior LedZepper
Phileaglesfan, they both should not handle the road that much differently even if its uneven (being basically on the same suspension)... sure it was not something else?

They made sure nothing was wrong with the Vert.
