What you geniuses cannot seem to fathom, is that we older guys did street race when we were young and stupid. We all admit it.

However, there is a huge difference between us.
Most of us realized how foolish and dangerous it was, and stopped street racing, and started going to sanctioned drag strips by the time we were in our early 20s.

We "learned"....that means to acquire knowledge.

Not only that, but you need to realize that we raced 13 to 14 second cars hitting maybe 90 mph.
Not 10 second cars, capable of 130 mph, or more on the street.

Grow up, brighten up, realize how dangerous and stupid it is.

Then, be a real man, and take your car to a sanctioned drag strip.

Post videos of your 1/4 mile, at your local drag strip.

That's something we'd all like to see!

Being a volunteer firefighter and picking up the pieces after people do stupid things has slowed me way down on the streets. We just had an incident 3 weeks ago, a 2013 Corvette was impatient and decided to pass a long line of cars. Half way through his pass and here comes a car in the other lane. This guy was going so fast, 100 + MPH according to the CHP officer's estimate, when he bullied his way back into his lane and rear ended the poor Lexus that just happened to be in the wrong place. One of the two ladies in the Lexus died at the scene, the other had to be put in the helicopter and life flighted to aid. The Corvette driver wasn't hurt too bad by the impact, but he was charged with vehicular manslaughter and is still in jail since he can't make bail. There is a time and place to drive fast and that's never on the street. For less than the cost of a ticket you can drive as fast as you want at a track event.
