Anybody know how to clear possibly embarrassing computer data post accident?

To paraphrase...
Defense wins championships!
I'm not really inclined to assist them in making their case against me am I? I mean I've already done so much to get filed into their "that was easy" inbox, right?
I like the soda input. Liquid spills! Anything else oh great warriors of Clan Bowling Green?

What are the chances somebody from your Insurance Company and/or the Police force involved reads this Forum?
You just posted on a Public Forum and admitted to ??????? (something that you don't want known). That should be enough to make them take a look to see what you are trying to hide.

That leaves a brandy new owner who couldn’t handle the car trying to take a corner too fast, or a brandy new CF member having some fun with the rest of us. In either case, good luck.

IF the investigator has the proper equipment he can pull the last X seconds from the box....some LE agencies do....usually only used when death or lawsuit is involved. Why do you think the insurance guy is gonna pull data?

The Manual says the recorder stores the last several seconds of data before an airbag deployment or near deployment. So OP's car might have stored something, or not.
If the police have not yet closed their investigation of the accident, then any attempt to clear the data becomes destruction of evidence in a possible criminal (traffic charge) investigation. Not a good thing to have on your record.
If you look deeply into your insurance contract and previous court decisions, I suspect you'll find that you have a duty to cooperate with the insurer's investigation when they are going to pay for a loss. Erasing the data does not sound like "cooperating". If they deny your claim then you can spend more on attorney fees than the car was worth.
I wish there was a practical way to disable the recorder beforehand, without disabling the airbags. Since I can't figure out how to do that, I'll have to live with the consequences of what the data shows if I have an accident.
The one accident I had in our previous C6, the circumstances were obvious and the other driver's insurance paid without question; but if anyone had needed to pull the data, it would have shown the other driver to be clearly at fault. Recorders are not always a bad thing.

You're forgetting about the mini cam with 360 degree capabilities. All Corvettes have this. They only record 160 hours at a time and the data is stored off site. The incident may already be on YouTube.

Nope, just an accident... as much as I wish my "embarrassing data" was the babysitters foot inadvertently coming into contact with the overhead onstage button, and the confused operator sending help after hearing odd noises and after asking if anyone needed assistance, a female voice shouted "yes... Yes... YESSS!
I do see that it's a single car, so that's a plus. But if someone wanted to dig dirt on you and this accident, posting about it here in this manner was a bad idea.

Horrible first post, I know....
No injuries, air bags deployed or tickets issued. Just wanted to see if there is a way to wipe any data in the Black Box or computer before it gets towed in to a shop and eventually inspected by an insurance adjuster who might have a reader/scanner in his hand.
Any help or advice is appreciated!

But, I think there are only a very few seconds recorded. Like 5 seconds or so. And then it is overstored. So, if you were at 100mph 30 seconds before the accident, but had slowed to only 30mph in the last 5 seconds, I think you're ok.

I think the data is stored in the airbag module. Not that I'm advocating doing anything illegal or unethical but you could spend a couple thousand dollars and buy the tool needed to retrieve the data or -guessing here- replace the module? Here is a link to the tool
