true but, if your at a car show and the sun is very bright and hot as hell it would protect youe dash and seats without putting the top on and off. i kind of like the idea myself. and if your carrying you don't have to worry about theft.

I'm glad I purchased it so far. I have not had the top on since Monday. But I have mine length ways behind me. I can reach behind me and grab it brining it between/above the seats and put it on before I get out of the car. Then just push on the cups when I get out. Certainly , to each his own, but so far it's been really handy.

Looks like a great idea, I hate leaving my car to go into a store for a few or installing the top just to take it off again.
Im surprised no one made a leave it on and drive version.

Frankly I'd have to agree with several of the other posts.
1) The design is an invitation to vandals, although that may not be an issue for you.
2) It is rather ugly looking. If the practicality of this product is more important to you than what it does to the appearance of your 'vette, then it works for you.
For me, the appearance of my 'vette, and the vandalism issue is important enough, that I would not use this product.
Nothing offensive here just an opinion.

I had a 911S Targa that had a neat side folding top. It was light and stored easily and compactly in the (front) trunk. Using and an aluminum folding framework that had the correct Corvette latches an after market vendor might be able to come up with an attractive alternative to the hard OEM panels and the Protect-A-Top.
It was the only top and good for 150 MPH+.

[QUOTE=Hameister;1586733393]Allen, if you're going to post on these forums, you'll need to understand that many of these guys can be pretty snarky, and sometimes like Garret's post, nothing nasty is meant, it just kinda reads that way in text.
You're right, but I have the right to be snarky back at them.
Yes and the bottom line is if the product works for you then it's all good. Take care!

glad your happy with it. I see the value in it to you, but I would not feel safe using it around here.

Whats the difference if you have this top or a RAG TOP a Razor knife and your in I park my coupe with the top off all the time the only time I use my temp. top is when there is a chance of thunder storms or when I know I`ll be leaving my car open for 4 or more hrs. you can`t go through life being scared

I think this top is great for the need it fills. Temporary protection. Kind of like old school toneaus on 50s/60s sports cars. I just can't figure out why someone has not made a folding Porsche Targa style cover for the Vette. I love my C7 however I am wondering if I have to go back to Porsche cause of the lack of luggage space. I will be taking two long road trips this summer. One to Hot August Nights and the other to the Ron Fellows school for C7 hi perf. driving. I can't take 12 hrs of top off driving and the product featured (slammed here??) is meant for when the car is stationery. If there is no such product someone is missing out on a great biz. opportunity! Pls fill me in if anyone has found something.

Where can this be ordered from? My wife is tired of getting in the car whenever we go somewhere with the top off and burning her legs on the leather. So this would be a great quick and easy solution to that for whenever we just park and run in to a store

I think the soft top serves its purpose well. It's not like it's on the car while driving, you wouldn't have it on at a dhow.
I could see using it to keep the dust out of the cars interior at night while the car is in the garage. If I wanted to drive my car without the targa top on a regular basis, this could serve a good purpose.
