Default Finally - took the car out. Roads still poor.

Too long a winter, and just plain nasty road conditions.
Last time the car was on the road was November.
Took it out for a 30 mile round trip, interrupted by the driving range.

Roads here are still in pathetic shape. It's a damn slalom out there, and still hit one nasty hole, despite trying to be really alert and diligent.
Hit it on the Meadow brook parkway near the coliseum. A no trucks allowed road.

Hoping the overpaid and underworked public employees responsible are going to correct years of neglect and fix what needs to be fixed. Pot holes do not just show up because of unusually bad winters. They are the end result of cracks and spaces in the road (allowing water to get under the road surface) due to lack of maintenance and general neglect.
Time to start a pothole patrol and control the agencies that do a sub standard job in these parts.

Couldn't agree more... if they fixed them right the first time they wouldn't have to keep doing it...

Everyone talks bad about Alabama, but at least our roads are pretty good here. Went for a nice drive this evening, with no particular place to go...

The roads here are still full of pot holes that could rival the Museums sink hole.

I'm up in WI, mine has been put away since mid October. I might take her out for a spin Tuesday! The roads here are brutal from the frost. I miss the roads of Florida the roads were flawless.

Yes the roads here are excellent. There are two terms here that simply do not exist, pot holes & cold.

Yeah, Long Island is bad, eastern PA is worse, but Pittsburgh is the worst of all.

The winter wasn't very kind to the roads in IL this winter either. Lots of potholes and loose gravel.

Well I have to report the trip home wasn't so flawless. There was a high spot on my parents road which appeared over the weekend and I did not see, well it put a hole in my oil filter.

I'm pretty sure I nicked a rock in the exact right way because it was only made a little noise when I went over the high spot. I drove 2 hours that way to MacMulkin and I only used 2 quarts of oil so it was a small hole.

The thing I found weird about it is my air dam was scraping all over on my parents dirt road but my fathers 14 Stingray didn't hit a thing. Guess the 14's are higher.

I feel your pain here in CT, roads are the worse that I have ever seen, glad that the gas tax money (highest in the country) will be used to fix the roads, Ha! Ha!. Haven't taken the car out yet, have been working on it a bit and giving it the typical **** attention it deserves. Sold my motorcycle since I can't stand the roads, will buy another one once I move down south where the roads are like sheets of glass.

If we have good weather tomorrow (raining today) I might finally give the car a good run. A lot of us had a real long winter and want to get out but the crappy roads are holding us back.
