Default TPMS Failure

Got in the car to take the wife on a short road trip on a beautiful day and the low tire pressure light came on. The DIC said "right front tie low air pressure. I cleared the message and the DIC showed 16 psi in that tire.

I got out and manually checked the tire pressure in both front tires. Both showed 31psi. I checked the rears and they showed 31psi as well. The "Low Pressure in right front tire" message kept popping up in the DIC.

Has anyone else had this problem? I assume it may be a bad sensor. Car is a 2013 Gran Sport Coupe, 3LT, F55, NPP, ETC. recently had the airbag light come on for a couple days and then go away with no action by me.

Thanks in advance for your advice. Hoping to not have to take it to a dealer.

A local club member had endless TPMS problems which the dealer could not fix, until he unplugged his Iphone charger in the car. No problems since then.

But sensors do occasionally go bad.

sometimes it's the battery in the sensor that actually fails...one of mine did so at three yrs...replaced under warranty.

Time to visit your dealer. All will be well.

Happened to me in the middle of Utah desert a few years back in my G8. Drove 100 miles to nearest dealer had bad sensor replaced under warranty and on my way in 30 minutes.
