Default Defroster connector fell off rear window of my vert

I was washing my '06 vert yesterday and noticed that the defroster connector had fallen off the rear window. It looks like it was soldered on.

They make a conductive epoxy or it can be soldered back on. I really don't like the idea of soldering on the rear window, and I am not sure how well conductive epoxy works.

I would appreciate any advice.

I would expect that there is something like rear view mirror adhesive that holds it on and then the electrical connection is soldered. I would talk to an auto glass shop about it. Better to make sure it is done right because that glass is an integral part of the convertible top...it is not replaceable separately, so if something bad happens, it could get very expensive very quickly.

Get a solder iron and some solder and solder it back on. This happened to my suburban about 2 months ago. Worked great!! the rear defroster actually works better than it ever has.

Since a local trim shop had worked on the top previously, they said they would reattach the connector under warranty. Their glass repair guy was unable to reattach the connector by soldering it. He also burned a section of the convertible flap with his soldering iron. He said he would order the conductive adhesive and talk to the owner about the burn mark in the flap.

Crap.

I had that issue on a different vert a few years ago, considered soldering but how the heck is that gonna work upside down
I can see that working if one takes out a rear window and puts it on a table.

anyhow, eventually I used this:
http://www.permatex.com/component/vi...dhesive-detail
and while not perfect it worked quite well for me.

That's what he said he would order. I wish I would have done it myself. I'm made because he cinged the flap and slopped solder behind the driver's seat. Now they have to fix two things - the connector tab and the cinged flap.
