I did mine in CRM to match the body color with a $5 rattle can from ACE Hdwe. They look real good with chrome 5-spoke Classic Vette wheels, but look like crap with black wheels and just so-so with silver or polished wheels.
Since the wheels are what first attracts the eye, the caliper color needs to relate to the wheel/tire first and the body color second. The pic by ZR1cat demonstrates that well.
So what wheels will you be using? Pics?

"In honor of jpee"
Yup, gotta agree---not exactly an everyday color that is used!
Here's what I think it means by Merriam and my vote would be more toward the latter (strong yellowish brown):
"burnished gold
noun
Full Definition of BURNISHED GOLD
: a dark orange yellow to strong yellowish brown —called also pinchbeck brown "

With the open pattern of those wheels, it appears the intention is to draw attention to the CF brakes. In that case, a shockingly contrasting color would be best. The gold, yellow, neon blue, or lime green would direct eyes toward that area.

ZR1 Blue get my vote
My .02 cents....ZR1 Blue calipers with white/silver lettering, then do blue lettters on the rear facia, and a white shift *** with blue numbers if you have a M6. Blue will pull the eyes to the CF rotors but not over power the body color. Just my .02 cents.
Something right along this line is what I have planned for my CRM GS.
Good Luck with your decision. Don't forget to post follow up pics.

I did mine in black with the rails in dark charcoal gray for contrast. I kept the Corvette name natural aluminum and used a clear coat on the letters so they didn't tarnish. I didn't have them powder coated, I painted them with hi-temp paint. It's been 7 years and they still look great.
