A Corvette / Mustang Comparison
#61
Apart from that, no, I wouldn't compare the two -- which is why I kept the GT when I got the 427. The only thing they have in common is the convertible top, four wheels, and 93 octane.
As for the Camaro. No thanks.

No kids. We have too many cars to have kids. I wanted to use the leaves for some texture.

Understood. Both cars are beautiful.

I love any kind of fast cars no matter what make or model. I particularly grew up on Mustangs though. I have an 04 GT with a lot of work including a Kenne Bell Supercharger, 3.73 gears and suspension work along with a loud exhaust and its a blast to drive. I will say that my 08 Z06 is a completely different car, there is a significant difference in the 2 cars. Like said before, the corvette is aerodynamic and fairly light weight with lower center of gravity and along with a large engine puts it in another class from the mustang. Both cars are very fun to drive and put a smile on my face. But I agree that the Mustang should be compared to a Camaro and the Vette compared with a Viper.

you can't compare a corvette to a mustang.
Mustang is comparable to the Camaro.
Whats the sticker price on a base GT ? low $30's
Whats the sticker price on a base corvette? $53k?
Thats like comparing the corvette to a 911, "oh well the 911 is nice, but you get soo much more bang for you buck with a vette"...oh wait a second, i may have heard that once or twice before, if only i could remember where....

I love my mustang. Got a 2012 GT auto premium. Great daily driver. In fact I like it more than the vette as an overall car and if I was forced to get rid of one it would be the vette. With a few very cheap minor bolt ons it runs low 12s and is a blast to drive. Should be a 11.5 car when I get it back tomorrow.
One of the best things about mustangs is the owners. Very nice people compared to vette owners. Seems like vette owners are pompous hate filled egomaniacs with the rare exception.

Nothing like magazine racing. Mustang is easier to launch and I would probably bet on a 2011+ auto more times than not vs a stock ls2/3 vette just because of how easy it is to just stab it and go.

Equal drivers the Vette, Mustang IS easier to drive.
I see more hate between Mustang owners....03/04 Cobra owners hating everyone else. haha
Both are good cars. No doubt about it. For a DD an automatic 5.0 would be fantastic.

I see you have been to SVTPerformance.com. I steer clear of that place as well.

Since when are people comparing the two? Mustang and Camaro because they have the same number of seats, options, engines options etc. I don't get why anyone would compare a vette to the mustang, not even close.

Exactly. I have a 2012 GT auto and a 1000+rwhp c6z for weekend/fun. That being said, I'm really tempted to sell the vette, do a TVS on the mustang and just be happy with one car. So far the mustang is the best car I've ever owned. No issues, drives great, no rattles, good stereo, rides nice, drives nice. Unless I'm going out to race/etc I prefer to drive the mustang. It is more comfortable and just a better daily driver than the vette.
