financial status of C6 owners
I see so many pics on CF of C6's in front of the owners home that looks like a mansion to me or read a post about how it is their second or third vette along with a lexus or two that I wanted to ask if most of you are well off financially. The garages look nicer than my home and Im not kidding. Does the ownership run the gamut of lower middle class (such as myself) to wealthy or is it true its more of a rich mans hobby. Financially speaking I probably shouldn't have bought my vette, but I didn't want to wait any longer so I went for it and am glad I did so far. Are there more like me out there or is that the exception to the rule?Do not mean this in any negative way.Just really curious. Thoughts?

Yep, bunch of rich bastards on here...
Too bad I'm not one of them.

Not a rich guy here. That's why I bought a 27k C6 and gave my dad my old ride 2003 Infiniti fx35

Bought my first Vette with a blown motor and transmission and wrenched for over a year before I even got to drive it. Many years later I am in much better financial shape but still love the cars. Due to my work schedule I do not have time to wrench hence the C6.

SS and pension plus the wife still works, but I have been into Corvette's for a long time also. I don't live in a mansion just a run of the mill house, but it is paid for so that is all that matters.

Doing ok but not loaded. The kids are grown (that was huge) and we were able to pull the trigger on a 3 year old Grand Sport last October. Seemed like I was never going to be able to get one. Then the C7 arrived and I was so disappointed because now that I finally had the money to buy a Vette Chevy had made it into something I didn't really care for. It was a bit later that I realized how many high quality used Corvettes are available, thank goodness for garage queens!

Was able to buy mine because I pretty much drove wrecks most of my life. My wife and I were also very good savers and severely limited buying anything on credit.

Thx for the replies everyone. It seems that most if not all of you worked very hard to aquire your vette. I think that makes it all the more enjoyable when you do get it. Everyone on CF is able to make fun of themselves as well as others. Not much "I'm better than you "attitudes. My kind of people. Be safe. Don

Much like silver74vette. I bought my first vet out of high school and restored it myself over the years. Wasn't until I started my career for a couple of years could I afford my C6. And continually as time passes I became more financially stable. That's when I bought my grand sport. Still far from Rich but living comfortably.
Here's a picture of the condition of my car when I first bought it.

Just an average Joe. Work for the city. I will have a nice pension if we can keep the mayor out of it. I came from a few Camaro's (79,91,99) and a Mustang (88). Always planned to have a Corvette and it came a year or so ahead of the plan. I have never looked back and have enjoyed every mile.

I usually stand on a busy street corner with a sign that says, "will work for food or diapers". You'd be surprised how many folks will pitch in to help out. I really don't want to work, and don't need the diapers.
Actually, I retired from the fire department after working 26 yrs. Bought my first Vette at the age of 25. It was a 1973 that I paid $5000 for in 1980. I just don't go on vacations, don't live a fancy lifestyle, and live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that is not paid for, yet. Financed the car and still making payments.

My experience is that most Vette owners are pretty good folks who just genuinely like the cars, regardless of their social, economic status. It was after a lot of years of hard work to pay for my home, my daughter's education and 16 years of child support that I was able to justify the Vette. Wealthy? No. Blessed? Yes!
