financial status of C6 owners

My experience is that most Vette owners are pretty good folks who just genuinely like the cars, regardless of their social, economic status. It was after a lot of years of hard work to pay for my home, my daughter's education and 16 years of child support that I was able to justify the Vette. Wealthy? No. Blessed? Yes!

Most Vette guys I meet have the same afflictions, they feel compelled to stand up during the Star-Spangled Banner and involuntarily twist their necks when they hear that big-block rumble. As long as you are keeping your family fed it is all good.

I'm now retired, but I bought my C6 a couple years before I did so. I was a General Contractor for 32 years, but sometimes managed to own a neat ride. Now my corral has improved somewhat and I have more time to enjoy them.

I invested early in an upstart media business in the 90's. To date, we've sold over 400 of our patented DVD Rewinders.
I also own the patents to the world's only battery-powered battery recharger. I do what I want these days.

In my neck of the woods, most folks are better off financially than the average, and most of the Vette owners seem to be older folks like me who are retired and own property and have no bills other than taxes and utilities and the like. Once your home is paid for, it is not too tough to afford a newer Vette for oneself and a late model Mercedes for the wife.
No mansion, however, and sadly, at 67 years old, I do not drive as fast as I used to. I agree with the others, it is best to own a Vette while young enough to really enjoy what the car can do. At my age, I have little interest in wearing out tires and brakes every 3 months and putting out a lot on repairs resulting from hard driving.

Bought my vette when I was single and had little responsibities. It was like fulfilling a dream. Now my situation has changed but I refinanced and I'm still able to keep it. I also don't owe that much and I feel it would be silly to sell it when I'm so close to owning outright.

I consider myself an average guy. Heck, my neighbors drive F-150s that cost more than my Corvette. I save my $$ and take care of my things. My daily driver is a 2004 Infiniti G-35 that is still in great shape. I am retired and have a part time job as a substitute teacher. My Corvette makes me feel really good every time I drive it and that is worth a lot to me.

Is that a F250 diesel in the background? A friend has a F350 King Ranch and it's a nice truck but I'm a Denali diesel guy, both of us are contractors also.

My father-in-law worked for C&P telephone co for 45 years. Made a heck of a good living and planned well for his future. Unfortunately he passed away 10 years ago but my wifes mother still lives comfortably.
