Poll on exhaust:
After a month of listening, looking, reading post after post after post and pricing i have came up with 2 options:
LT headers and mid with stock NPP or B&B fusion axle back?
My goal is a little more rumble and to have the option to quiet it down. Cost of parts will be about the same. Headers will need a tune which will cost(unless someone tells me different), install cost, ect. Fusions i can do myself. Overall the headers will cost more but is the gain worth the cost? So what do yall think?

AR long tubes will cost about $1800 + tax. B & B Fusion about the same. Average cost of a tune $400-500. So if you can install the headers yourself, you are still looking at the cost of the tune over the B & B. Very little hp gain with just the B & B. With the headers and tune, you could gain 20-40 hp. I guess it just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend.

1500-2000 is my price range. I would rather someone else do the header install. Its not that i cant, its a matter of laying on my back doing all the work. I can suffer through the B&B install but not headers and mids

If it's definitely a must to be quiet or a little loud Fusion is better than npp. If you don't want to limit yourself and have a much better sound but not switchable there are better options. If you're total budget is $2K you don't really have options.

plenty of options out there for a budget exhaust. OBX makes a nice complete longtube headers back systems for 1500 includes all piping and mufflers that replicate the borla set up. Its not that high dollar names but sounds identical and performs the same. Or you can pick up a system off the forums for a decent price.

These car will never sound like the old big blocks especially with the side pipes. Headers, Bullets, Xtreme, Borla, SLP and/or offroad will be as close as you get.

I would run with either a Borla II S or Corsa S myself.
With headers, plenty of sound, but no droning with either of these mufflers!!!!!
As for which, Corsa has more of a higher tone note of that of the euro style cars, while the Borla has more of an American muscle lower tone note; both which can be ordered with 4" tips.
As for the OBX Borla knock off muffler, last time I checked, the OBX clones did have some droning, so not the special deal it seem to be for a clone copy.
As for the OBX headers, Although clones, not a bad deal here if you just change out the bolting hardware and clamps. Also, not a bad idea to weld up the cats to the X pipe section. The cat/X pipe will still get bolted on, and the end of the X to the mufflers, but welding up after the cats to the X pipe instead of the clamps does cut down on possible leak areas from a extra set of clamps.
FYI, the OBX header/cats and X pipe do not come with O2 extension cables, and will need to pick these up. Also, pick up some better grade bolts and clamps as pointed out above.

To match the old big block sound you would need a bigger bore and shorter stroke engine with a carb. Since the bore is limited by the LS engine block size you can't match the old big block sound with an LS motor.

I'm Looking into the AR headers an Dyno tune
Price I got was 2600. Hoping the AR headers will make the Npp alittle louder. Plus gaining 20+ hp.
Was also thinking about maybe Borla S2 or Atak

i just installed OBX headers with off road x pipe and had it tuned for just over $1000, i left the stock NPP and run them open all the time, i like the sound alot, and others tell me the same.. its fun when people ask what kind of mufflers i have and i tell them "stock".. car made 423hp and 417tq with this mod and a dyno tune

I just love the sound of a cammed 427 with sidepipes! C6's, regardless of the model/engine and mods, will never sound like a 67 BB with sidepipes. Trust me on this one. There are just too many differences.

Plus you will not get much benefit from the headers without a tune.
It is critical you chose a good tuner with knowledge of the LS engines.
I used LGM for my work and tune. I now have 123,000 miles with zero problems from their work.
