Just as an aside, my daily driver is a Smart ForTwo and other Smart owners actually try to wave at me. I'm sorry, but I try to ignore them and avert my eyes. It's embarrassing. Is that because I'm a Corvette snob or just driving in an embarrassing car?
Smart Car? (if I didn't do it, someone else would have).

Check out the well placed twin gauges on the dash.

Unfortunately I do agree Lisa, problem is I get about 40 mpg and paid by my job per mile so even though it's embarrassing, it works for me. My company has paid for the car almost 3 times with about 135,000 miles on the odometer.

Here in MN you either get the blank WTF look or an enthusiastic return wave. Nothing in between.

Scored my first C7 wave last night, only third one I've seen on road and other two on interstate.

I'm not sure why it is, but it does seem that the older the model, the better the chance of getting a wave.

Seriously...can't remember the last C2-C4 that I didn't. Come to think of it, I don't believe I've ever been ignored by those years. Always the C5 and C6s.

I'll wave at any 'Vette in the C7, and even in the Minis when I forget... Then I get looked at funny.

It's all about the mindset of the person - Mini had the "Save the Wave" campaign because new buyers weren't really getting the whole 'brotherhood' thing...

Probably the same thing here - a lot of C7 owners are buying their first 'Vette. Hopefully they'll learn. I'll keep an eye out for you, Professor!

Oh, and by the way... I ran into several C6s back in October who didn't wave, but tried like hell to figure out what kind of car I was driving.

I swore that he next time I saw a thread about "the wave" I would express my opinion.
When in my Chevy pick-up I see lots of Vetts and wish I was in mine so I could wave but, I do not see near as many Vetts while driving my 08. I believe there are a couple reasons.
First, the Corvette has such a lower profile and in traffic we do not have near as large a field of vision therefore we might not see each other. Second, I drive my Corvette with a lot more attention to road and traffic details, crappy drivers, cell phone users, etc. than in my truck. I don't drive any less safe in my truck but I am not as paranoid as I am in my Corvette. I do not know if this is relivent to any of you CF readers, it is just my best guess as to the lack of WAVES.

I almost always get (and give) a wave........sometime I get headlights but I thought that was for Porshe's. The other day we were out for a ride and all of a sudden my wife says, "he waved to you" and I said, "WHO"...............didn't even see him, so whoever you were I'm sorry!!!

That's because C7 owners are in an elite class. I just hope they don't drown when it rains since their noses are stuck in the air.

Nah, only some of them. I love waving at C3s and getting one back. Feels good knowing that even with the generational gap, there's still that bond there.

Never understood why people make a big deal about the wave.

Not a big deal……just something started a long time ago by guys who were fortunate enough to own a car that most folks can only dream about……it would be sad to see it "fade away", just as its sad to see the idea of "courtesy to the other driver" ( old AAA slogan ) fade to the common attitude on the road today that seems to say, "the road is mine, get outta my way!"
