Admire your taste in Vettes. Grand Sport is one of the best looking vettes made. Had mine delivered straight from Florida on Christmas Eve. Put close to 2000k miles on it already and that's up here in the Northeast where all we had is snow.
Couple of things I could suggest to you would be to have the street alignment done as has been mentioned by others. One of the best things I have done for my ride, just like I had done with my "08 AO coupe is to change the run flat tires out for non-run flats. I put Hancooks on my "08 and have put new Nitto Invo's on my grand sport (Discount Tire - Best Price both times ). This is my opinion is the best change any corvette owner could make to their car, unless of course you are into the track scene. The change in ride and handling is unbelievable. Good Luck with your new ride !!!

If the paint has been well cared for and has no swirls, go to the forum at Autogeek and learn the proper way to wash and wax the car so you won't be the one to add swirls to your paint. I use to the "two bucket method", Google it. Takes washing the car to the next level while providing maximum protection to preserve the paint. Also use a premium wax, such as Pinnacle to keep it looking good. Mine is a 2010, and there are no swirls in my paint. I like you want to keep it in as good condition as possible.

[QUOTE=tvan42287;1586533513]Thanks for the tips. What should the clearance between the tonneau cover and top be and at what point do you check it?

Here is a picture of mine grazing what is actually the top inside edge of the window about 80% of the way through the closing cycle. There are plenty of threads on this topic, but if it is more than just a "graze", a bump specifically, most guys just reach back and pull the window out of the way at the moment of contact. The pluses of a vert IMO far outweigh this possible minor inconvenience. Just making you aware that if you hear a noise, this is probably what is is.

Just call Dennis at Fichtner Chevy, as long as the factory warranty hasn't expired he can extend it for you. My worst complaint about my GS is the brake dust, I tend to wipe down the wheels a lot between washes, other than that get out & drive it!!

Thanks I will give him a call tomorrow to get ideas on pricing and give him the vin so he can verify. My understanding is the factory 3/36 warranty started on 5/11 when the car was first registered to the original owner. As it has 19k on it now I should still have a couple months.

The GS has very limited front ground clearance, always be on the lookout for driveways, speed bumps, curbs, parking lot bumpers and drainage-dips at intersections. Mistakes are co$tly. ALWAYS park "shallow" never ever go deep into a parking spot. The long hood can fool you into thinking you have more room than you actually have. You have been warned!

Love the GS, those front fenders rock!

Don't change those tires. They appear to hold the car great in the second picture.

Default Splash guards

Do you mean the rear splash guards for front and front ones for rear so they are on both sides of each fender? I already see how the tires and road dirt is kicking up on the inside fender. Has anyone ever put clear bra around the rear air ducts to protect the paint?

Any links to best splash guards?

These are the front guards, they protect your paint from the wide tires, especially around the rear brake ducts. I have the Apsis wide ones,RPI also makes them. Those are the only vendors I know of.
