Sold my 2012 CE

When I graduated from college in 1970, I went to buy a new car ... was tired of driving junkers. Wanted either a GTO or a 442, and settled on the 442. Went to the dealer, and the price equipped the way I wanted it was the stellar sum of $5500, as I recall. Couldn't afford that, so I settled on a Monte Carlo for about $3700. And that was the worst car I've ever owned, followed closely by the 1977 Caprice. Wish I'd sucked it up and bought the 442 now.
You'll enjoy the Judge. My brother in law had a GTO and it was really fast for the day.

vettes are not rare which is true, investment is questionable, such as hot rods are a fad that comes and goes just like custom motorcycles.if you have ever owned a old hot rod, which I have then you would understand my statement.they do not stop or go or as comfortable or as reliable as a new vette.yes I go to cruise nite with my vette and sit with a lot of old people with old hot rods which are my friends.then they go home and put their hotrod in the garage, while I take my new vette for a nice long ride which they do not.that is the difference.

Mabbe so.
Judge is rare enough, a ragtop rarer yet.
Wished the OP gave a review on how power stacks-up to his ex-C6.
'70 Judge 455 was a big dogs in the day.
Had a chance to drive a '70 440 6bbl SB, kind of wished I hadn't. My imagination made the car a lot quicker than it turned out.
Guess driving various late generation Corvettes helped make it feel slow.

I once had a 70 GTO, had a his and hers shifter in it you know the kind, I think it was called a dual gate shifter.....went like snot, but I think it only got about 9 miles per gallon.

You apparently don't have a very well versed knowledge of the GTO Judge, and I'm sorry to have to inform you of this, but there's a very serious problem here Alan.
There's no such thing as a "1970 GTO Judge convertible four-speed 455 HO."
There were 168 GTO Judge's made in 1970.
151 of them had the 400 cubic inch engine, the other 17 of them had the 455 HO engine...and all 17 of those 1970 GTO Judge's with the 455 HO engine had the TurboHydro 400 (automatic transmission).
There were no 1970 455 HO GTO Judge's with a four-speed.
You can very easily verify this for yourself by looking at the 1970 GTO Judge production figures at the GTO Judge registry site.
I would have to say that what you have is likely a base 1970 GTO that has been cloned into a Judge with the addition of some sort of 455 engine and some cosmetics.
The base 1970 GTO is worth much less than the GTO Judge, and a 1970 base GTO that has been molested by having its original 400 engine removed is worth even less, either way, sorry to say, it's not worth what your 2012 CE Corvette was worth.
However, there are legal remedies available to you because the car was represented to you as something that it is not.

-Ward

I had a 65 tri power/ yellow GTO in high school in the late sixties. The only power anything on that car was under the hood!
I like all the goodies of the C6.
Your money, your call. The C6 you'll be able to drive around and enjoy.

To each his own
Not something I would do but we all do things for different reasons. I bought my Corvette (2010 GS) to drive and enjoy. Especially on longer road trips. To give up all the modern improvements is not something that would make any sense for me. If on the other hand I wanted to do car shows or was buying the car as an investment, the Judge could make a lot of sense. Good luck....Enjoy!
