No jack, no spare, ?
I guess I have a problem here; 74 and not into changing tires AND I did not realize that a 2006 had no jack or spare tyre.
My 2006 has Kumho spt type and they are almost new. Some previous owner apparently wanted a soft/squishy ride; I like that and got rid of the Good Year tyres that must have come on it......the car has s27,000 miles on it.
Anyway, What would you advise? I am not into changing tires (rattlesnakes and snowbirds are a hazard if you get out of your vehicle) and I really am not planning a road trip.....do go to Phoenix)
Farmers gives me one call ? on "towing" (g_d forbid) to so called help me/us.

New C6s have runflats. Are you saying your car no longer has runflats?
I've had several C6s and I've had 2 flat tires on the interstate at 70 MPH. I just kept going until I came to the next exit, then drove the car to a tire store.

I would get a kit that has tire slime and a pump. You can buy complete kits at places like Lowes, or on line at tire rack or similar. Chances are that will take care of your problems.
I have a kit in my Z06 (but I still have Michelin PS2 run flats).

No recent Corvette has had a jack and spare tire. And nowadays, with runflat tires (and cars being smaller) there are many other regular family cars that don't have spares either.
Corvette isn't really big enough for a spare, and it would need two since the front and rear tires are different sizes. I suppose you could use one of the little doughnut tires for a few miles, but it would not drive very well.
So ... get an air pump and a can of slime (tire sealant) and you should be OK. In addition to those items, I have OnStar, a cell phone, and AAA.
Even if you had a spare, you'd never get a jack under the car with it sitting so low to the ground with a flat.

Omega Man, I like your suggestion; I got rid of my 1987 because it was $1600 red me into the "poor house". I will not spend $1600 on rft s .
I think perhaps because I bought this car some of you think I have a bit of gelt

Just do as OmegaMan suggests. You like that idea. And in addition make certain you always have a good cell phone and consider the AAA suggestion above.....

The Kumho ECSTA SPT are run flat tires on your car.
Its the XS series of tires that are not run flats.
If you use the below link, select specifications, and look at your tire sizes, will see that they are run flat tires.
http://www.kumhousa.com/tire/categor...F-A6DAED9DD99F
As for the tires, running the same on my vet as my winter tire. They do well when it lightly rains for a winter tire, and lets face it, in the winter time with the roads only around 50*, no street tire is going to warm up enough to get a good bite, so you end up wearing the tires out with wheel spin any time you get frisky with the throttle.
As for when it does warm up and the tires can warm up to get a good bite, then I switch back over to Super Sports ZP instead. As for why not run the Super sports in the winter, the SPT's do better in wet conditions.

I have the compressor, slime etc...but USAA has free? towing....so as others have stated use your Insurance for that one time...if needed....get AAA or some other towing....enjoy your ride and worst case....may cost some time if you are on the road....but let's face it...now days you are never really that far from a place to fix your flat.....Happened to me on my way to Havasu and had a flat near Casa Grande.....the cell phone was my friend and Discount tire there had me on my way....just cost me some time....but the softer tires are worth the minor inconvenience and time...anyway for me

As others have said - get a tire plug kit plus a small air compressor plus a can of slime sealant. All of these should get you going. The slime might ruin a tire pressure sensor. But if you are in the middle of nowhere and this is the only option, then you might have to slime up a tire. Hopefully the tire plug and air compressor would do what you need.
And, add towing to your car insurance. And, it you have to have it towed, demand a flatbed truck, you don't want a Corvette picked up by the two wheels and towed any distance at all.

Steve R, Are you certain? It would fit in with what the other owners of the car added/spent $ on.
Thank you, Big relief! I hate to throw out perfectly good tyres and spend $1600; however, it is better than spending the 1600 on the main seal between the engine and transmission as I did the week before I traded off my 1987.

I would suggest AAA membership or On Star.

Wal-Mart has the pump and the slime, you can buy the pump that puts the slime in as it pumps it up.
