I have been paying around $90 per year for each of two cars. That includes the taxes etc. I just realized that they have several types of accounts. My wife listens to one classical station only in her car, and I listen to three different country stations in the Corvette. So when it is time to renew, I plan to reduce the packages.

The absolute most horrible company I've ever dealt with. Never again; too many other music options.

Don't expect that to be the norm. I've had XM from day one and it's never easy...NEVER!

It makes sense but XM has me spoiled being able to choose my music type. It's hard for me to listen to local radio.

My free one year subscription expired last January. Since then I've been getting their offers in the mail every month and since my Vette is hibernating all winter those offers went straight in the trash. Until the one that came this week offering 6 months for $25. So I called and got it started but with tax and a $2 "invoice fee" the grand total came to $31.60. BFD

If you are like me and just drive your vette in the summer months but are not actually going to get it out for another month or so, maybe wait until the day you get it out of hibernation before you call. I called yesterday thinking I could get it all set up but wanted to activate/starting in mid april so I'd have it through mid October. ...but little did I know it gets reactivated the day of the phone call and they have no clue how to do it any other way. So I now have XM in a car that's going to remain in doors until next month. I'm happy with the deal and it was maybe a 10 minute call even though I had to repeat 3 times I'm not giving a CC number.

I just renewed mine for one year @ $121.32. Yes I paid too much but I did not want the hassle/********. I will not have to deal with it for another year. Well worth the $10.00 a month to me.

I also did the lifetime subscription last year( around $800). Probably sounds crazy to most of you, but now I don't have to deal with all the nonsense of calling them anymore!

Call them up and cancel because they will automatically renew you at the going rate. Tell them your not interested and they will offer you 5 months for $20. Tell them you want a paper bill and it will cost you $2 more. Never never never never never ever give them your credit card info.

You don't HAVE to tell them you sold your car- use it as a selling point to the next guy " This car has lifetime XM radio" I bought the lifetime plan years ago for our 04 escalade it was only 400 then.

Offered me $20 for 5 months on my '13 that expired last year. Don't use it enough for even that price.

I have Google Play Music All Access free for 2 months. I'm really liking it. Since I can use my phone, tablet, or computer, I can listen anywhere. Anything I want, with no commercials.

It is $10 a month, though. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it.

I didn't read all this, but def don't pay more than $20 per 6 months....if they say its not available, just cancel and they will hook you back up for free and send you the offer in a few days....but I have outgrown SAT radio....too repetitive for me...If they could get there programming better I might still be around.....(disclaimer: I have enjoyed some XM comedy channel to keep me awake a time or two on a very long road trip)

I now just use Slacker.com, and Pandora.com and have the best custom stations in the world....that are all mine.....its free and I don't mind the occasional commercial....

and if I want some comedy I just open youtube.com and dial in everything under the sun.....

3 years in a row, no issues. I believe it's because I'm polite with them, they know they have signal related issues, and I start out being serious that I want to cancel, so they know they have only one chance to keep me. never been on the phone over 5 minutes either.

But, in the future, if they argue, or quit giving me that rate, I'll drop them like a hot potato
