C7 price increase

Yes it was the demand that has driven the price up. I also wonder what the increase over this will be for the 2015 model.

That is a good thing, it means that the C7 sales are doing good, even though many of the post on this forum have been negative regarding the C7 looks, etc.
I believe GM hit a home run with the C7, it has everyone talking and taking notice of the new Corvette.

Agree totally. I wonder if this increase means they drastically underestimated initial C7 demand, or if they intentionally priced it low starting out to pump up sales and associated buzz.

it's weird that you don't see the apprehension on purchasing the first run c7 that you read about the c6. I gather that it didn't really matter as much back in 05 since it was the latest and the greatest like the c7 is now.

Was the 2005 any more special than a 2004 without pop up headlights?
The C7 haters are the guys who are trying to justify their C6 purchase.
Some of us think the tail lights look just fine.
I look at it more as a car rather than a Corvette.
I think Chevy did a good job getting away from the usual Corvette looks and styling.
The only people who like old stuff are old people.

I'll be keeping my C6 for a long time so makes no difference to me how much the raise it. It will be interesting to see how second and third year sales hold up.

I'm glad they raised it . . . should keep the C6 values up a bit for now.
I'm not so sure the demand has been as great as GM hoped. There are already discounts below MSRP. They only sold 2400 total Corvettes in February 2014 . . . but they sold almost 1000 "obsolete" 2013 C6's last February
I think there are certainly dealers who can't get a C7's, but others with many unsold cars. Announcing a price increase now may help move out all those earlier 2014 units, with the old pricing, faster.
Just a thought, and absolutely not a comment on the C7 itself . . . but maybe more a comment on the economy.

It will be interesting to see what the price increase does to future C7 sales. One of the key selling points was that it was close to the same price as the previous model C6 was, and I think that helped some folks make the initial jump to a C7. With this much of a price increase, I think GM is risking losing some buyers. They may find that all the extra demand they had for the car dries up because of this. Seems like they are taking a big risk.

I remember years ago people on here commenting on how little GM raises the pricing of the Vette here and there...well,that "little" rise added up to thousands by the end of the C6 run. This is normal GM stuff. They raise the price every model year and sometimes in mid model year too.I personally think they are pricing the VETTE way,way beyond it's actual worth. At the end of the day,it's a damn CHEVY!GM is dreaming if they think they're going to pull many BMW and higher buyers out there into a Vette...or young people for that matter.Given the choice of a 100 grand Porsche,Ferarri, BMW,JAG..etc etc, with performance being equal, the Vette does not compare in craftsmanship....I'd take any one of those other ones. Not bashing the Vette,I love my 13 GS,just stating it as I see it.GM is nuts!and yea,THE C7 IS UGLY!! ...and p.s...there is actually a C7 section of the forum...
