1. Without something to cancel out the sound waves, drone will exist. Tolerance levels and definition can always vary, but straight pipes will definitely drone.

2. Are the tips straight and flush? They appear to be crooked and stick out past the bumper on the pic.

3. There is a difference between just noise (straight pipes) and a symphony of sound (tuned specific noise from a major exhaust brand). Although I agree that axleback prices are excessive. That's why I picked up used Corsa for $500.

4. The "gurgle and pop" is present under all conditions, it just can't be heard with the stock exhaust. It is called DFCO, it cuts fuel during deceleration for fuel economy. It causes the popping.

Sounds like my corsa mufflers. Sounds awesome for 100 bucks, but I would worry about drone on the fwy.

If you remove the muffs drone is going to take over in the 15-1700 range. Some people may simply be tone deaf.

Huge difference in sound quality. Straight pipes have ZERO tone... Start it next to a corsa extreme and it is a night and day difference.

I disagree with you. I have checked out almost every exhaust system possible for a ls2 in person the muffler delete by far sounded the best. Go YouTube to!
C6 MUFFLER DELETE. I'll post some in car freeway stuff shortly.

LOL have you had a muffler delete yet? Why don't you listen to this video?

Here you go guys! Freeway 5th and 6th gear. You tell me if you hear drone.

I don't need to watch a video. I've done it. I personally have also had Corsa Sport, NPP, Zo6 manifolds with gutted cats, Zo6 bi mode, B&B Fusion, American Racing Longtubes, Akrapovic, Zo6 with muffler mod, and finally Corsa Extreme.

The Corsa Sport and Extreme sounded the best overall. Followed by the Fusions, the Akrapovic sounded AMAZING under hard acceleration but had drone on the highway. The Zo6 and NPP lack tone as did straight pipes and have drone if left "open".

This makes it easier to watch your videos.

I did this to my car a few years ago when I thought I wanted something louder than the Borla S-type exhaust. Unfortunately there are times when I like it a bit more quiet so I went back to the Borla and just installed some QTP electric cutouts with the remote. The Borla gives the C6 the most incredible sound out of all the aftermarket exhausts IMO.

hey how did you embed lol. I tried that for 30 minutes last night lol. The embed link from you tube wasn't working. Borla is my favorite as well. But long story short I love the sound. I don't hear any drone what so ever. Future plan is to go Cam , headers, 2 QTP cutouts with stock exhaust.quiet the sound when I want or open it up right at the headers.
Anyway I have a pretty popular video on the Internet of me racing a Ford GT super car in my turbo camaro you can look it up on youtube.
Turbo ss camaro vs ford GT

Well I'm in cali and drive like a bat out of hell. No tickets here. Btw it's quiet at idle. Unless it's morning then you get a little treat. Haha.
