Sinkhole at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green!!!!! (MERGED)

I'm thinking GM will probably begin a "Save the Corvette from Sinkholes" sales promotion for C7s pretty soon. I certainly would be willing to do my part with the right incentive package.
Just hit up my wife at lunch with the idea of that and it sank into its own sinkhole. Even tried the 25th anniversary card, this year for us, and offered to buy a silver one for her with no success. Must try harder to convince her that the carribean cruise is for her and I need a separate gift for me.

As to the ownership of the cars, the confusion probably arose because the six cars owned by the museum were donated by individuals. Here is a quote from the article I read.
The museum is in the process of reaching out to the people who donated the cars.
“They were all very special cars to those individuals,” Strode said, the weight of Wednesday’s loss evident in his voice. “Each had a unique story and each had a unique place in their hearts.”
“This is going to be devastating to them,” he added.

I was over on the NCM Facebok page and there are some real dorks over there. They were Ford people and they were just having a field day with the remarks. I just don't understand some people.

Watching the video, people would of had time to get there A's out of the way, if
had some common sense. Appeared to start under one of the cars moved slowly
in terms of a human standing there. If they wanted to be bothered, could remove
the building which will probably have to be anyway. Than like some say crane the
things out. More than likely the whole area will have to be examined.
Too bad wasn't the C7 lot. Those could be replaced in a couple a days of
manufacturing. Just fill the hole and make some more.

Fortunately no one was injured/killed. As much as I love Corvettes they can all be replaced. It does make you wonder about the stability of the Museum's/factory's land though.
