NEW - C6 Corvette Air Intake Shroud
Now you can have a true CAI setup without having to spend hundreds of dollars on an expensive aftermarket intake system. This three piece shroud assembly encloses the area fed by the front scoop on GS, Z06, and 427 models, making sure your car breaths fresh outside air.
The center section fits tight around the factory air duct, and the side pieces close off the area from the front cross member to the radiator shroud. This is made from tough ABS plastic and installs in seconds with four push pins.
This is an inexpensive solution to the power robbing effects of high under-hood temperatures.
On Sale:
$109.99

Great idea ! 08-13 oem airboxes are such a big improvement over c5 oem intakes that were closed vs the c6 08-13 which is wide open and 4" x 13" . I see no reason to buy an expensive after mkt airbox that cant really outperform the oem setup by any substantial gain,(vs c5's, which could see 15-20hp with an open element cai).
Following that logic, this device when combined with opening the shroud should produce comparable numbers to those expensive after mkt cai's.
$109 device + cut shroud+oem airbox=cheap hp.
PS I would highly recommend that anyone considering this device or not, PLEASE replace your oem filter,(that looks like a case of toilet paper). The replacement of the oem filter is the cheapest hp you can buy.
Buy any free flowing filter, I personally use the Attack Blue from TKO Performance and have seen appreciable gains by just using the AB filter. Whichever filter you buy, replace the oem filter !!!!!
PS: corvettemods is one of the best vendors here, with a giant inventory of toys AND necessities. You won't regret doing business with corvettemods.
Factory air box opening with oem filter:
OEM air box with Attack Blue drop in replacement filter:
Better view of Attack Blue filter out of oem housing:

Can you clarify the modifying of the radiator shroud for LS3? You mention this item is designed for the GS, along with the LS7 models. Since the GS is also a LS3 does that mean that the radiator shroud needs to be modified or since the GS has the air intake already in the bumper then there is no further modification needed?

I would like to see what is involved in the mods to the radiator shroud on the base model LS3s.....anyone have a tutorial or youtube vid showing this?
Im trying to keep it simple with this car and not pile on every bolt on/stick-on/slap-on item that hits the market...
Ive done that in the past in search of HP and curb appeal....this car has a surplus of both of those in stock form......
but a hidden mod like this, that makes the engine breath air that isn't heat-soaked has gotta be a good idea......

Looks a lot like something called the 'Ice Box'. It looks like a great product, since the LS 3 and 7 has a good filter, anyway.

Can you please link to install instructions as I too find "In order to fit 2008-2013 LS3 and standard C6 Corvettes the radiator shroud would need to be modified to allow fresh air into the area covered by the shroud" confusing.
(I currently own a 2012 LS3 Grand Sport coupe)
Thanks

Nice product. Put one on my 13 GS, fits well and was easy to install. No noticeable seat of the pants difference (wasn't expecting one), but anything that keeps the hot engine bay air away from the air intake is worthwhile.
