Just got my Lenses replaced on my 07 Z and it makes a massive difference
Got my 07 ZO6 lenses replaced this weekend.
Thanks to RLSEBRING for the Lenses and to my local guy for taking the time to do the replacement on my car. Pics show the transformation. The install was pretty long as the glue used was a pain to work with since it is the factory type glue and comes in a brick that had to be cut in strips and fed into a glue gun one at a time since My installers machine to apply it was delayed or it would have been a snap. How people are doing this in their garage alone I have no idea. The process was worth it. It took about 8 hours start to finish. The bumper was not fully attached in after shot without the lights on.
RLSEBRING was super to deal with and shipped fast to me and answered all my boring questions.
My local installer was awesome and if anyone is in the LA area and wants to know about him just PM me. He is great and super nice and very good at what he does. I am not sure if I can post the name of his shop. He is not in Los Angeles exactly but close enough to it that you can drive there and back in a day no problem.
My car looks new now. I just bought it used in November and the lights were really bugging me. Best $800 I have spent so far. Well until my heads and cam go on next month

Nice!
What did new lenses run you? Never mind just saw $800. Is that for everything and labor?

Now you need some switchbacks I need lenses bad. Oh and they need to be cleaned out. There is a dead mosquito on top of the passenger side bezel that won't fall off. Damn thing

No idea what they were doing with the car but the guy clearly did not take care of it properly. I think they had some blackout covers on them or they just took the car through auto washes all the time. Those things destroy the finish on the paint and plastic parts. Most likely they had the car in the sun all the time though. I have been restoring the paint work with some paint correction work. the car mechanically was really sound and had a new clutch plus it was priced right and I got a GMPP 45 mile plan on it.

The difference is night and day (pun intended).

I hope the first picture is with the bumper cover just positioned for the picture, because the gap is much wider than original.
Did you try any of the headlight repair products to get rid of the hazing first?

There are a bunch of lens restore product kits for less than $40. If the lens isn't cracked, and doesn't have deep scratches, they will do the job. Just a little elbow grease, or a small buffer if you have one, is all that's needed.

I know it is a big change.
Yes you do have to remove it totally but not the fenders. Just have to unbolt the fenders along the top to pull them up a bit to get the lights off.

I don't have the funds to experiment but I wonder if a clearcoat or SEM SolaRay on the inside before assembly would be worth it. I've worked on lots of headlights but have never seen anything as flimsy and delicate as Corvette lenses.

If you get new lenses DO NOT COVER THEM WITH ANYTHING!! Trust me I have looked into this and my installer showed me what happened to a customer of his that went against his advice and put a precut lens cover on them and they cracked within a year. No clear bras no spray films, nothing should be put on them. They harden and shrink and that is why they crack. They are just to dang fragile. Made in the cheapest way possible I guess. You can not even polish or clean the inside of them as they have no coating on them and will just get worse if you try. You can polish the outside to some degree but then the UV coating may come off and then damage will happen even faster. For 700-800 dollars it is not an expensive fix considering new lights are what 1200 each?
